I was working on the capacitors in an IF tank circuit so had a bunch of 1% silver micas here in the 75-180pf range. The meter consistently rated these 10pf too low across the board. Yes, I zeroed it. Yes, I tried both the test leads and the socket. I can check the higher values caps in this set with my Fluke 87V and it shows the rated value, so I know the caps are OK and this meter is off. 10pf is not a huge margin of error, and I guess now that I know this I can adjust, and the price is right, but...On the plus side, it is extremely easy to use and the auto-ranging is a plus.

More than two months after owning it, it seems to be fine. I don't think that it will take much rough treatment. Still, it seems to be accurate and does its work quickly. I like that it has a broad range of capacitance that it will test. If taken care of properly it could be the only meter of its type you need for a long time. I will note that a padded case of some type would have been a nice accessory. The box it comes in has no room for the batteries if you wish to remove them and keep them with the unit. So far, I am satisfied with my tester.

My microwave was being temperamental. It would work normal one day and the next day take 3 times the amount of time next day work normal next day take 2 times amount of time to heat. Kept doing this for a couple weeks. Used ohm meter to check capacitor. Checked ok but just had to know the exact value of cap. Meter was very inexpensive and let me know the value and if it was leaking or open. I probably won't use it very often but it is very handy to have. It also reads very high values which makes it a plus. Thank you!!!!

Product was exactly as described and was delivered fast. Very small capacitances can be measured with the unit. However in the picoFarad range, the instrument display "drifts" up and down and never really settles, so an accurate absolute reading is not possible.

This worked exactly as expected. I'm not looking for super accurate measurements; I just want to know the rough values of unmarked SMD caps that I harvest from motherboards. Someone said their screen was scratched but that may be that the protective plastic film over the top of it wasn't removed? Peeled mine off and it was perfect.

I saw several reviews about not being able to zero the device. I just received mine yesterday and found the same issue. It will never zero completely. However, I did some tests using some caps between my Fluke and this (I trust the Fluke) and I was surprised that the counts were very close. The Fluke won't measure down as low as this one, so I couldn't compare those values. However, I tested a variable cap that I have that goes from 15pf to 160pf (I think it is). The meter responded as expected, although I had to hold the var cap with pliers, because if my hand was touching it, as expected, the capacitance went all over the place. Then, I started to think too that humidity is going to affect this as well. We do keep our internal humidity about 55%.All in all, while not the best device around, for the price, it seems to perform pretty well.I will keep this unless in the next few days it fails or goes way out of tolerance.

Nothing fancy. Worked great for my needs (testing spare capacitors before using them as replacements, and verifying bad capacitors being replaced). Started with a broken TV that I was going to toss. Ended up with a working TV that I can use. Happy with the result (and the reduction in waste). This is obviously not one of those high end capacitor testers (I can't remember the name of the tech that the high end ones use), but for use around the house to fix things, this is a decent solution. Unfortunately, with that bad batch of capacitors that came out of China a few years ago (search for "Capacitor plague"), I've had quite a few things fail due to bad capacitors, and I'm glad to be able to fix a few of them now. The irony that this capacitor tester comes from China is not lost on me.

For me to write a review… something would have to be exceptionally good or real bad to help inform others to buy or stay clear from and this is the item to buy if you are dealing with capacitors. I did my pre-buying research which narrowed me down to this best price and feature selection leaving only results to be proven. And now I have several months of usage with it on many types of circuit board caps all of which prove it to be extremely easy and simple to use while being highly accurate. What more can you ask for? Here is something else you “do it yourselfers” should know if fixing electronics and testing capacitors… Don’t rely on just a visual inspection as most people do looking for just domed caps to replace. Big mistake! After testing hundreds of caps this little gem of a meter shows some over heated domed caps still up to specs (still should replace) while perfectly good looking ones way short of listed specs or completely bad. You can double verify this to be true as this meter indicates with other meters and find it’s true. So save yourself having to do a job twice by checking all the suspect capacitors once with this meter so you can get onto other more important things in life then do over’s. My only improvement wish on their next version of this meter would be capacitor pin holes or metal bar contact area in/on the meters face allowing for simple cap to meter pin touch readings without having to use the corded alligator clips. So Jingyan if you’re reading this users feedback there’s a freebie suggestion from the field you don’t have to pay some high price thinker upper for. Just send me the free upgraded meter in appreciation. lol
