I used this one time, and it worked perfect. I was able to perform an oil change in a fraction of the time it normally would, and I didn't have to crawl under the car.Second time I went to use it, the residual oil still in the canister would SPRAY out of the breather holes in the handle every time you pump. I cleaned out any residual oil and realized it wasn't even making any suction anymore.. The entire pump is useless now! Waste of $70

vide la panne à l'huile complètement et je ne vais plus en dessous parce que mon filtre est au dessus du moteur. Très bonne invention.Ce qui m'attriste, Je ne l'ai pas pris assez grand .

It works! Its pretty simple in design, and its better than making a mess under your car. I still need a pan to catch what comes out of my filter, unfortunately. Though my wife's Charger is entirely accessible from the top of the engine. I no longer need to crawl under it to change the oil!Seems pretty well built too, I'll likely have it for a few years.

This review is for the EWK 6.5L manual extractor. I bought it to be able to change the oil in my Audi A5 Sportback. My car's oil capacity is 5.5 quarts with filter so this was a good size choice for me. I hadn't changed my own oil for about 30 years and I have to say it was super easy using this extractor. My filter is easily accessible from the top of the engine so I never had to get under the car to do this oil change. The entire process took about an hour and that includes driving the car for a few minutes to warm up the oil and then driving it after the oil change so that I could top it off appropriately, since my car has no dipstick and relies on my MMI system for fluid level check. Not a single drop of oil was spilled. While I changed into old work clothes I could have just as easily changed the oil in dress clothes, given how well this extractor works. It only took two or three pumps for the oil to begin moving into the extractor. This thing is pretty cool and it was actually fun to change the oil. Once the oil change was done, it was easy to pour the oil back into the original Castrol containers (the extractor has a nice spout on the top to use in pouring out the old oil) so that I can take the used oil to AutoZone for recycling. My only complaint is that the tubes are pretty stiff, and it took some time the night before the oil change to get them straightened enough that I could feel comfortable reaching the bottom of the oil pan through the dipstick. I'm currently storing them inside of some PVC pipe to keep them straight until my next oil change. If you're considering an extractor, I think you'll be happy with this one.

I've used multiple different brand of suction pumps and this one out performs all of them. Good quality product. Great for watercraft servicing

its really not bad because it gets literally almost every drop when i use it, but you must keep in mind nothing will ever be safer than DRAINING the oil vs extracting...you have no idea if ur getting any possible VERY small metal fragments in your oil pan by sucking it out...with draining however u can get a magnetic plug/screw and see metal fragments on it when u take it off to drain...now, this does get literally almost every drop from my experience...so if ur willing to take a bet on your car not having any fragments in the oil pan that can harm your car over time, then this will save you alot of time and/or effort...it does for me on my fiat abarth 500 at least...now i dont need to drive the car up on ramps and remove a skid plate just to drain the oil..instead i just use the extractor and it really sucks it all out...i triple check to make sure and yea i once i dont see anymore oil getting sucked up i replace the filter and pour in new oil...and obviously i can also see it takes the full amount of oil and measures up correctly, and the oil looks nice and clean on the dip stick when i check so...yea..the only real risk is the possibility of not getting small metal fragments out (if any) from your car oil pan...that CAN do damage over time so nothing beats draining but yea idk this is so convenient ive been taking the chance...so far so good.

Pump doesn't prime, connectors are hard plastic and dont seem to seal at all once you join smaller pipe to larger one, thus rendering the unit useless as an extractor, they should re-engineer the fittings to use rubber such that they maintain vacuum, I’m hoping to have new fittings shipped to me to solve “no-vacuum” issue

worked great right out of the box, the question is how will it work next year after being stored? hopefully the residual oil will keep seals lubricated!

I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews about 'build quality' and 'it broke after two weeks'. I've been using this for over two months, have done a bunch of oil changes with it, sucked out a puddle of coolant on my engine block from a busted thermostat housing, even drained some coolant so I could change a thermostat and it's been working great. I've used both the compressor hookup, and the manual pump handle and it's very easy to use.I'm not sure how some of the reviewers had trouble with instructions or with pieces falling off inside their dipstick tube -- it's really not that complicated, and that must be some crazy long dipstick tube if you're losing an entire piece of this pump inside there.Overall my experience with this tool has been positive, and I think it's well built and reliable. I highly recommend this tool. Oil changes are quick and CLEAN with this pump and with the money you save doing it yourself, you'll be able (and willing) to do your oil changes more frequently. It took about 15 minutes start-to-finish on several of the cars I used it on. It will pay for itself very quickly, especially if you flush your brake fluid or drain/refill your transmission (those are both normally pretty pricey to have done at a shop). This tool is also versatile in that it can be used to drain many fluids for maintenance. As far as tools go, this is one that was clearly a good investment.**UPDATE** 18+ months :: 11/23/2020Still going strong, I continue to use it regularly and it has had NO PROBLEMS at all. This was a great investment.
