I wish I had spent a few extra dollars and gotten the more expensive one. I have 2 other thermometers and this one is 15⁰ F off from those. Not impressed.

Out of the box, it needs calibrating. It self calibrates in the first few uses although the instructions aren't clear about it. Afterward, accuracy is within a degree F. Quite acceptable for the price IMHO. It has some nice functionality that is usually found on more expensive units. For example, it will scan for minimum or maximum temperatures by changing the "mode". Regrettably, it doesn't remember the mode chosen on the next use, my biggest gripe. The instructions could be better although they do come in a half dozen different languages. This is the fourth unit of this type I've had and it's definitely the best.

Some may say this is a non-essential item for griddle cooking, I say it is a "must have" item. It takes the guesswork out of what the actual temperature of the zones on your griddle surface is..Not relying on the position of the gas control knobs alone. Get one! I feel the accuracy is spot on, has a laser dot to point the unit and an easy to read, back-lit display...great value and tech for the price...performance is awesome!

Works perfectly for my reptiles. I was looking for a way to ensure my heat bulbs and aquarium heater were for sure working (other than solely using digital thermometers, which relies on where the probe is placed). Probably not what it was originally intended for, but it gets the job done. Based on room temp, the digital thermometers, and some other factors I can tell it's about as accurate as you can get. The design is sleek and easy to use. There's different settings for reading the temperature that can be helpful. As for the battery life, I would say it's decent, it's still holding up and I've had the thing for a month or so now I want to say.

Don’t let the low price scare you away! This thermometer gun performs as well as pricier models. I've used it while cooking on my Blackstone grill and to check the temperature coming from my air conditioner vents, and it’s been precise and reliable every time. Great value for such accuracy—definitely recommend!

Funciona pero las mediciones son tan variables enfocándose al mismo punto o puntos cercanos que es difícil saber cuál es la temperatura real. Francamente en la cocina no ayuda mucho.
