This infared thermometer is used for measuring the temperature of the object's surface, which is applicable for various hot or hard-to-reach objects without contact safely and quickly. This unit consist of optics, temperature sensor,signal amplifier, processing circuit and LCD Display. The optics collected the infrared energy emied by object and focus onto the sensor. Then the sensor translates the energy into an electricity signal. This signal will be turned out to be digital shown on the LCD after the signal amplifer and processing circuit.
- Distance to Spot size12:1
- When take measurement, pay attention to the Distance to Spot Size. As the Distance (D) from the target surface increases, the spot size (S) of the area measured by the unit becomes larger.The Distance to Spot size of the unit is 12:1 ***This unit is equipped with a laser, which is used for aiming.
- Field of view:Make sure the target is larger than the unit's spot size. The smaller the target the closer measure distance. When accuracy is critical, make sure the target is at least twice as large as the spot size.
2. Emissivity 0.95 preset
- Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit). Inaccurate readings will result from measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover the target surface with masking tape or flat black paint. Measure the tape or painted surface when the tape or painted reach the same temperature as the material underneath.

To avoid the potential situation may cause harm or damage to people, please pay attention to the following items:
1) Before you use this unit, check on the plastic housing carefully. If there is any damage, do not use it.
2) Do not point laser directly at eye or indirectly off reflective surfaces.
3) Do not use this unit in the environment of explosive gas, steam or dusty.
2. Caution:
To avoid the damage of the unit or the target,please protect from the following situations:
1). EMF (electro-magnetic feids) from arc welders,induction heaters.
2). Thermal shock (caused by large or abrupt ambient temperature changes allow 30 minites for unit to stabilize before use.
3.Do not leave the uint on or near objects of high temperature.
(1) Trigger: When pull the trigger, LCD display reading with SCAN icon. Release the trigger, display reading with HOLD icon. Bullt-in 8 sec auto power off function.
(2) Laser on/off button.
(3) Celsius / Fahrenheit switch button.
(4) Back light on/off button: When backlight is on,any operations will activate the backlight.

SURPRISED AT HOW BUDGET THE COST WAS FOR THIS, BUT IT ABSOLUTELY WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN COST! WORKS WELL FOR AIR VENTS, EVEN READS SKIN TEMPERATURE!!!!! (CANT READ INTERNAL BODY TEMP.. BUT AS HOT AS IT GETS IN THE SHOP AND IN SOUTH FLORIDA.. I HAVE TESTED IT ON DRINK CONTAINERS, MY OWN SKIN, MOTORCYCLE ENGINES AND HEAT SHIELDS.. THIS THING IS A WONDERFUL TOOL TO HAVE AROUND ANY HOME, OFFICE, OR WORKSHOP! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY AND USE THIS THERMAL TEMPERATURE READER. AN EXCELLENT BUY!

for 10$ I can't ask for more. I did an ice bath test for accuracy and for my unit it's 0.5C off, but... that's really really good for a 10$ temp gun. It feels cheep but unless you use your temp gun as a hammer or don't treat your tools well then it should last a long time.

Good for checking cooking oil temps, cold spots/insulation gaps in walls, cold air leaks, etc. Seems fairly accurate, I'd estimate it's better than ±3 degrees F. Not accurate enough for body temp measurements, but for just about anything else, good enough. Has a wide measurement range. The batteries last a long time. Very inexpensive.

Seems like a great product. It's heavy duty enough that it can be dropped or accidentally hit on things without damaging it. It's accurate within a degree to my other temperature gun so it seems to be reading accurately. So far I haven't had to change the batteries and the screen is easy to read. 5/5, no problems.

Decent price works well seems to be faulty accurate would buy again for the price but in some Duracell batteries instead of the cheap ones

I bought this product to understand the temperature of my griddle. I was easily able to find hot/cold spots. Product is responsive and super easy to use. The backlit display is easy to read and works in any lighting.I actually now use this around the house for things I didn’t think I would need it for (i.e. piping, automotive, etc.)Overall great gadget to have around the house.

For the low price I wasn't expecting much. It works, it covers a really wide range from very cold to very hot. Tested against a couple of other thermometers it's not very accurate. For messing around in the kitchen or home workshop I'm sure it's close enough, which is what I'm using it for. I pointed at a milk jug in the frig and got 32 degrees, and same for other items in the frig that weren't frozen, so I figure that was off by a couple degrees. I tried pointing it my forehead and got about 90 degrees, checked that against a medical thermometer, and given that I'm relatively healthy I'm more like 97.1 degrees. Mostly I'm using it to see if the griddle is hot enough to cook on, it's just for fun and does not need to be accurate, so I'm happy enough.
