Bought for my 90lb dog. Twisted into the ground in a flat grassy area. Immediately realized it was not stable. Was able to gently pull it straight up put of the ground. There's no way it's going to gold a 50lb dog much less 250lbs as advertised.

We have a 21 lb cockapoo that wants to run at every eye candy he sees! We went to the beach with him for the 1st time and tried out this new stake. I was skeptical, however once I screwed the stake ALL the way down flush, it actually held up nice! Now he did several full force runs and it did stop him every time, for about ten times and then came loose. I had to screw it down one more time and no problems. I believe your dog will learn it's parameters after a few full force runs. So for being in semi wet sand all day, this worked awesome! I like the ring feature at the base which allows him to spin in all direction's w/o pulling on the stake. Great product, accessory tools are well designed and carrying bag.

Heavy heavy duty! Very solid metal! Wont ever have to buy again because the quality is so strong! So glad that I found this. The way this is designed with all the way spiral realy bite into a lager portion of ground and adds a lot of resistance when the dog puts on it. The very first time he ran, the tie-out only yanked towards the direction he pulled, but it held firm. I bought the black one and now I think I should’ve gotten the orange color so it would be more obvious in the glass and not a tripping hazard. So far no signs of wearing or rust. This is a solid piece. It indicated an attractive, zippered, bag with carrying strap, and a bar for leverage to help screw the tie-out into the ground. Very thoughtful value-added pieces.

I have a fairly large dog that has been through 3 runner in the past 3 months. She bends the handles and it make it hard to screw them back in. I am very happy with his one. It is very strong and very easy to install. I like that it comes in orange be it can be easily seen, so I don't trip over it. I would buy this again but it is very well built so I might not have to!!!

We did not buy this product for a dog but as an anchor point outside for my husband to use a battle rope and it worked perfectly. It drilled into the ground easily and so far is not coming loose. I would say it would definitely hold a large dog.

Needed this to contain my two 8 lb monsters while we went to the beach. This thing is actually pretty sturdy! Could definitely hold back my ankle biters with ease, but I don't see why it would have any problem keeping a dog of even German Shepherd size secure. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase. Just make sure to really shove it down in the sand, it does take a couple of times of doing it to make sure its good and in there

Very robust piece of equipment seems very much worth the money right out of the box. Haven't tested it yet but fairly confident it will stand up to the stress of having a large dog tethered to one end. Definitely gives me peace of mind that my dog will be safe tethered to this and the stake won't come loose or shear because of the good build quality, compared to other similar products. Specifically, the metal is much thicker.Comes with a nice heavy duty carcabiner that I'd trust to hold my own weight let alone the weight of my dog pulling against it. Only downside is the carcabiner has no locking mechanism.Additionally comes with a storage bag and brush to keep it tidily stored away. I look forward to using this, knowing my dog will be safe to roam while tethered on his lead.

Really liked this at first. We used it on a camping trip with our very active pup. The stake was sturdy and strong, as was the line itself, but the clip on one end broke after just two days of use. This wasn’t with constant heavy pulling either, just a pretty light skinny of resistance. The stake was strong and very easy to drill into the ground by hand, and the line was also very sturdy. Cheap and potentially dangerous clips if you have a strong dog.
