Ok don't get me wrong at all this is a BRILLIANT book binding KIt! It is beautiful but it is not at all for a beginner, This is for an artist who just needs some new tools I think.There are no instructions or even labels of what each item is, and it has been far too many years since I have last bound a book myself to remember what everything is for.... or if I had even worked with some of them before, I remember the press, which had only the one know atop, so the even four screws makes this feel extra fancy!The threading and gluing tools but I was hoping for basic instructions on how to do this again... since i haven't done this or self recycled paper since "Thousand Points of Light" Bush was president and I was a wee little child but I guess the internet and YouTube will have to fill me in on the gaping holes in my memory...It is gorgeous though.. for certain

I got this for my son, who is a graphic designer. He's always wanted to try his hand at book making, but never got around to getting the tools and supplies needed.He's very happy with it so far. It came with everything he needed to bind a book (except for the paper and glue). He was a bit disappointed that it did not come with instructions. He had some book binding experience in college, so he did have some basic knowledge already and there were plenty of youtube videos out there to help fill in the gaps.So, a good starter kit if you have some basic knowledge of book binding already or at least are comfortable figuring it on on your own.

Fantastic for learning about making your own journals or sketchbooks! There are tons of videos on YouTube to learn from and this kit includes a sample of everything you would really need except for the paper and any covers/leather you start branching out into. Great solid needles, an awl, good thread, glue brush, and of course the the press itself! you can press flowers to dry, too. Using the press as a clamp helps you to keep the signatures together. So, overall a great kit that I'm happy to have on hand, and it's compact and easy to store!

My sister has been repairing and recovering some vintage books. Some of my old books are getting shabby, so I want to learn her techniques. She recommended that I get a book press and certain tools before starting.This book binding kit seems quite complete for all sorts of repairs. Assembling it had some issues as the holes were not large enough for the posts.The book press is very sturdy, easy to open and reclose, and can handle different sizes of books.When she comes to visit, I'll benefit from her skills, and with this kit, I can rescue some of my falling-apart books.

We are so pleased with this book binding kit! My daughter has been interested in book binding for a while now and this is the perfect kit to help further her abilities with the process. It was very easy to assemble and use and is perfect for average A4-A5 books. The wooden boards are coated so they are smooth and so they don't damage the paper. The kit includes: a book press, waxed thread, curved needles, bone folders, an awl, book cloth, and a large glue brush. What is not included: books, paper, instructions on how to bind books. I would absolutely recommend this kit for someone with basic/beginner knowledge in book binding.

My daughter wanted to get into book making. This was the perfect gift for her to get started. it has everything but glue to get started. she has put together many pages for books since I have given it to her. Its made from high quality materials. super pleased with this product.
