Bought as a gift for my nephew. He loves it! He brings everywhere with him. Fun toy for kids that have limited phone time.

I like gaming and I enjoy playing all those retro games from back in the day. I have other retro gaming systems and I saw this and thought I would give it a try. The unit arrives well packaged and it was a bit smaller than I imagined it would be. The included controller is about half the size of the controller it is modeled after. The screen is decent and the unit powered up and game play was enjoyable. The sound quality is what you would expect from a smaller compact unit like this. The player does feature lots of retro games and game play is fun. It is a neat little system for those just wanting something to do while passing time but for someone who is more of a serious gamer this may not be it.

A cute little handheld game console that I got for my sons when it's not their turn on the PS5 or Switch. They promptly broke the antenna off but it doesn't affect the game at all. They mainly connect it to a bigger TV to play but the little TV is functional and they are able to see the games while they play. I don't even think they have even gotten through half the games on this thing and they got it for Christmas.

This game system works perfectly and makes long car rides way more fun for kids.

POSITIVE:Its pretty cheap considering other video game options. It is very easy to use. The controller works very well. The TV screen motif is cute and I like how the dial turned it on and controlled the volume just like an old timey television. Hooking the unit to your television isn't very hard.NEGATIVE:All the games are cheap Russian knockoffs of copyrighted arcade games. How do I know they are Russian - well the Russian National Anthem plays over the Menu screen so.... The screen is VERY small. My kids used it to try the games out, but its very hard to play using just the little TV. When you hook it up to your television the graphics aren't great. The game play jumps back and forth between impossible and mindlessly easy - doesn't seem to be much in between.OVERALL:I'm not sure how enjoyable this would be for anyone but little kids. Both of my kids who tried it (24 and 17) just laughed at how dumb the games were. I'm a gamer too and I played all the original games in the arcade 30-40 years ago and my take was that the games were pretty lame. I'm not sure why I would play this instead of getting a MAME emulator and playing the actual arcade games. Although the price is pretty cheap, I'm honestly struggling with who I would give this to - everyone has a phone nowadays where you can download 1000's of games for free that would all be more fun than this....

Our children learned the hard way that if you do not take care of your things, you will not have them to play with. Case in point, when our expensive gaming system suffered a terrible "accident", due to carelessness on the children's part, it was not replaced. Accessories and games were sold and money was used for clean up. Therefore, we have been without a system for quite some time now. After much whining, crying, begging, and pleading, we have agreed to put a toe back into the gaming waters to see how things go and the E-Mods Gaming System fit the bill. This cost effective, cute little system comes with a retro mini TV, with a 3-inch screen, and one controller. The controller takes two AAA batteries and the TV is rechargeable and comes with a charging cable, (wall plug not included). The system has 168 games on it and can be played on the mini TV's 3 inch screen or played on your TV using the provided auxiliary cable. As you scroll through the games, you will not recognize names, but you will recognize the games when you start to play them, because they look exactly like they did when we were growing up. For example, Tetris is called Blocks.Although the system comes with one controller, there is a two player option on most games. But the Amazon ad states you will need to purchase a second controller if you wish to use the two player option. The system turns on by using the second round knob on the TV and this same knob controls the volume. The first knob is only for decoration. The games can be played with no volume, so the game can be used anywhere. The game itself is easily turned off with the TV knob, but there is no turn off button for the controller. I couldn't find anything about it in the instructions, so I assume it turns off on its own after awhile if the buttons are not touched. After the initial 6 hours of charging, my husband and I played the game on the TV for several hours, partially to test it out and partially because we were having too much fun. But after making them wait patiently, we turned the system over to the children. There has been blissful silence ever since and all of a sudden, there is a willingness to get along and share. If the good behavior continues, we will probably purchase one for each of the children.Overall, it is a fun little system at a great price point. As an adult, I really enjoyed playing the games I grew up with. However, if your kid(s) is use to the higher end gaming systems, this system is not going to cut it, they will be bored. The graphics are similar to the original Game Boy and the controller is very similar to the original Nintendo controller. The children, ages 7, 8, and 10, having been playing it non-stop since they received, so evidently they like it, and my husband and I give it five stars.

This is a really cool little retro TV that would fit in with your 1/12th scale action figures, which is why I picked this up. Beyond that... there's not a lot of joy here if you're interested in actual retro games. All of the games on here are cheap shovelware - the same few actual games with new skins on them, over and over, with nonsense names like 'EATING' or 'DOG'. They're not fun to play. But if you don't care about that... the wireless controller is actually super responsive (even though it takes two AAA batteries, which sucks), the volume/on-off knob is great. The screen is tiny and it's a super weird angle to look at this and play it if it's just on a table or something... you gotta put this way high up on something so it's eye level.Ultimately, it's a harmless goofball little thing. It's a $15 shovelware machine in a $15 shell. If you wanna pay for that, go for it! That's nostalgia tax for you.
