I often fail to notice that there's a piece of paper stuck to the bottom of my pot, and when I turn on the stove, it catches fire, which frightens me and causes panic. So, I really need a fireproof mat in the kitchen. With it, I can feel at ease. This fireproof mat looks like it's of excellent quality, and the shipping was fast.

There's something inherently concerning about traditional fire extinguishers -- you never get the feeling you know if they're actually going to work or not. Aim them wrong, fail to figure out how to pull the pin, use them after they've expired, get a defective one, use them on the wrong type of fire, and you possibly end up with a worse problem than you started with.Given that most fires are relatively small, the fire blanket is a great product -- simple enough to be understood and deployed quickly and easily by people of any age and basic physical dexterity, for exactly the types of fires people are likely to encounter most often. I keep this one in my kitchen but am considering buying more for my garage and my cars.The one downside of this would be in the deployment -- if not done carefully, you could be at risk of burns since your arms have to go over or near the fire at some point (hopefully protected and not for very long). Further, you're going to have some difficulty if the fire is on the wall or ceiling.However, this is an important safety product and I feel like all kitchens would be well-served by having one.

I have this blanket very close to my stove. The security of knowing it’s there gives me such peace of mind.

I have needed one of these for a long time. It is harder than you think to train a kid what to do during stove fires. This was very easy to explain and I imagine much better at smothering than to have to spray all over your kitchen. I think it's a solid step up from just having a fire extinguisher in the house.
