These are not a product that you buy to wear while walking the dog. It's understood that at this price point and material the item should be useful for what it's intended for. This product is very excellent for that. It is a welded and glued poncho made of the same material as the space emergency blankets. I am a big guy and they fit over me. It will shed the rain and allow you to stay much warmer in case of emergency. they are very small and I have these, a flashlight and road flares along with a similar blanket and a couple of other things all within a small toolbox that lives in the space beside my spare. If you live in an area that can get cold or may have some remote areas I encourage you to consider these as an item that would significantly enhance your survivability just in case you get trapped in the cold for some reason. I will be buying a couple more to keep in my day hiking pack. They are reasonable, light and take up very little space.

Purchased when flying back to an area where we did not expect cold weather and therefore did not pack heavy coats. These are compact, securely packaged, and full-sized protection from wind and cold when unwrapped. Subsequently cut the seams on one to use for people and dog warmth when stuck for hours in traffic stoppage owing to snow and below freezing temperatures. They were economical so I had no problem repurposing and am storing several in the car for future use.

Little more rugged than previous space blankets. Nicely shaped like a poncho. Cheap enough to carry an extra one or two and share when others forget theirs.

Update: Opened one up to test it out just to be sure. The length is not what I had hoped overall, my hubby is 6'2 and with a hiking backpack on the back of this will only cover to about his bum, so if we were hiking and got caught in the rain this wouldn't keep his legs dry at all whatsoever. Also the sleeves are short, they only go to his elbows and not much longer on my arms either even though I'm a foot shorter. So maybe wouldn't keep us quite as dry & warm as I had hoped, still good for emergencies but deducting 2 stars for that. It's also kind of loud to wear when walking, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that considering the material but it's something I hadn't thought about. Hopefully the company will decide to make them longer and with longer sleeves, or have a longer option available for purchase. Other ponchos I've used were longer with full sleeves and quiet, they didn't have the mylar but keeping dry is an important factor to staying warm.I've purchased other ponchos before but these ones are definitely the best and worth the money! Not only will they protect from rain/snow conditions, but because it's made with mylar it will also keep you warm! The mylar makes it extra durable as well while maintaining the lightweight portability needed for tossing in a hiking backpack or camping bag. It's also small enough to fit in a sling-bag or a large fanny pack. Haven't had the need to use one yet, but I feel very reassured knowing they are there should my family need them.

These are rather flimsy, but for emergency use, to carry in a "bug out bag," and camping, I think they are great for those kinds of uses.
