This corkscrew is basically as described. The wood looks nice, but there are some minor defects in the metal. Nothing noticeable from a distance. The build quality is sturdy, and it performs exactly how I expected.It's not quite as easy to use as those winged hinge openers, but it's VERY compact which I really like about it. We have a small kitchen, and it performs wine and bottle opening just fine in a very small package. The cork is easy to remove from the screw after using this tool.The 'blade' part is not very sharp, and hasn't been particularly useful in my experience. Cutting foil on glass is a challenge, and I think this blade isn't quite up to what I would have expected for the price. I gave up on cutting the foil and just pulled the cork out through the foil. Not ideal but it did work.

It’s a simple product but because of that attention to design matters more I think. I have dollar-store cork openers but this one looks a LOT nicer and still works great. Not much to say except if you’re looking to upgrade cheaper ones like I was, this is a great option!

This is a handsome wine opener. It looks great in the wine-picnic bag and works very well. Good solid clicks into place when opening it up to use. The wooden handle looks almost plastic-like, but otherwise it's a great little wine key.

Works well and is nice looking. Not that you need a nice looking corkscrew but the wood handle is comfortable to hold as well.

This corkscrew looks exactly like its photos and works even better than described. We literally threw away the one that we had because this one's performance is so much better. Thumbs up!!! Highly recommended for frequent wine drinkers. We'll be getting another one to travel with.

On a recent girls trip to Hawaii we were shocked to find that our Air BnB did not have a corkscrew in the kitchen. We decided to Google "how to open wine if you don't have a corkscrew". Let's just say the result was both disastrous and hilarious. The cascade of zinfandel down the white wall was not what we had hoped for! So, for Christmas, I got my girlfriend and me corkscrews and pencil cases for our suitcases. Each kit will have an opener and a stopper for future Air BnB emergencies (hosts: there is a lesson here for you!). This opener surprised me. It's heavy and solid and very good quality for the price. It was easy to use and far better than anything the internet could recommend as an alternative. So, save your wine and grab one of these handy dandy miracles of technology. Or grab two, and put one in your suitcase!

I usually use the restaurant-grade corkscrews to cut the foil on the bottles, then use jack-rabbit automatic corkscrew to pull the cork in one move. This one fits the bill perfectly, it's well built and nice looking. I even used it as intended to pull the cork... and no surprise, it works exactly as it should.

I am a part time bartender, I have opened many bottles of wine over the years. I kind of have a thing for nicely made bar keys. This one is very nice. I like the design, it is stainless with wooden scales, very attractive. The hinge is made very nicely, the bottom portion swings out of the way rater than move away as in some other keys. The corkscrew is Teflon coated to allow for easy insertion and the blade is serrated and it locks in place nicely.What I especially like is the way it's made, it's nice and heavy and feels good to use.
