It does a good job of compacting tumbleweeds, otherwise a few of the weeds fill a big trash bag. I push them into a plastic barrel then use this tool with the metal blades to chop them up, like a big coffee grinder. Five cycles of filling and chopping gives 1/2 a barrel trash which I empty into a plastic yard bag and throw out. Probably would do leaves too.

Wow haven't had a product that disappointed me as much as this. Don't get me wrong for the amount of stuff you get it's a great value. For everyday use it fails miserably. I would return it but I pretty much destroyed it trying it out. I have a 10yr+ old corded weed eater and it's way better. I don't know what use this product could be used for certainly not any normal yard use.Overall if you do very, very light yard work this may work for you the price point can't be beat but if you want to use it for normal yard work forget it.

Easy to put together but I had to jury rig the grass shield to fit properly. But that was not a problem. I got the old batteries not the advertized ones. But theys eem strong enugh. I have charged all three of them. Glad they come with three. I just have a small yard area front and back of my rented villa. But I put in lots of landscaping. The trimmer has cleaned up the winter growth very well. I have used the saw blade and I bought a new heavy dutycable type of cutter with three and one with five cable cutters on it. Works great I also purchesed a package of two more carbied tipped saw blade cutters. . I have not used the plastic ones and I doubt they will work. I have cut down one inch sapplings with it and lots of tangled up ground cover. Once everything is back in order it will be easy to upkeep it. I also have a Black and Decker regular weedwacker with a cord. It stil works but you have to get the cord out and hooked up and you drag it around and it doesnt feed right so you have to always adjust it. This cordless one is so much better and the price is right.
