I’m by no means an expert on electric lawn tools or gas powered ones either, but I can say this trimmer works well, lasts long and is extremely powerful. Not sure what else I could want, no technical issues at all.

It would be much easier to control with a neck cord! One shoul be offered with the unit!

Not sure what I was expecting for the price but these products are very light duty. If you're careful with them they might last. but don't expect to not break if you drop them the wrong way.

Multiple reviewers comment that it's shipping without the specified detachable edge guide, including mine. The tool also includes an attachment for a shoulder strap, but also not included nor listed as a packed part.Greenworks customer service is only available via webchat or phone that routinely has 30-40 minute waits, and frequently drops in the middle with no option for a call-back. I'll be switching to a responsible company like Stihl.Finishing assembly of the tool was a pain with screws that were very stiff, and it's not fun to try using a screwdriver next to a barely covered blade for the string guard. Allen head screws would have been very much appreciated for that part. After 30+ minutes waiting on hold on the phone plus waiting for a website chat agent, I was told they're out of stock on the metal edge guides til end of June. There is no option for them to automatically ship the missing item when available, I'll simply have to check back then and wait for an agent again.Calling back again two months later with multiple chatbot and phone disconnects, I'm told the part is out of stock again. There is still no way to have them automatically ship the part.On the plus side, they did provide a case # that should have my information, and the agent suggested not trying to contact them on Mondays as it's their busiest time.5 stars if all the parts had been included as it has plenty of power, 1 stars for customer service from Greenworks.

Great unit to back up the gas trimmer that's started to get finicky. Already had a couple battery packs from the chainsaw and leaf blower I got last year. Pleased to find that I could do our entire yard & garden and still have juice left in the battery pack. Seems to have enough grunt to chew threw tall thick grass when it needs to. No fumes, no fuel or plug issues to deal with, and it's a lot quieter - very happy with this purchase after its maiden voyage. Hope it lasts a long time.

I absolutely love this tool, but the string breaks often so you have to tap it A LOT, if you don’t and you have to open it to pull more string out. You may as well start with a new spool because the string just unravels and you’ll never get it installed again without wrapping it back in perfectly. I spend more time replacing the spools than I do on the job. At the rate you go through them. I suggest buying one of noname compatable rolls or your in for big bucks.I have now started to listen and can tell by the sound it’s making if I have to tap again (which is very often)… if you tap often enough you won’t have to keep stopping and replacing the spools (it’s faster and easier to open a fresh box of spool than tryingto roll it back into place, it’s too springy

I bought this for my back yard and it works great it is kind of light wight but the annoying thing is that sometimes I get close to the metal or wood the string gets cut and then it well take me 10 min to add another string.

This is the third Green Works piece of equipment I've purchased on Amazon. The first was a chainsaw, six months later a leaf blower, and now six months after the blower this weedwhacker. I spaced things out to see how each would work out and I have been pleased with all three. Each piece of equipment is just as powerful as the Echo Saw, the Ryobi leaf blower, and the Husqvarna weedwhacker they replaced. No more mixing gas and oil, cleaning fouled plugs, and pulling on a rope. Just pop in the battery, press the button, and go to work. All are good quality and as I said above just as powerful yet quieter than what they've replaced. The first two items I purchased I went for the battery option. Now with two batteries I'm set.

Greenworks products are interesting-- I have never had one fail. I've never had a technical issue, or warranty issue. What I have had is sometimes a slight mismatch between my design expectations and how they solve the issue of weed eating, mowing, etc.In this case, this is not the first weed eater I've had from Greenworks, but this is the first one that:1. Was powerful enough2. Spins up and down fast enough3. Is well balanced enough4. Rotates the proper direction for a right handed person5. Has a spool that taps to replenishThis was my first foray into the 80V world, coming from the 40V world in Greenworks and having many many batteries, chargers and devices. My first reaction: the battery is HUGE. After I got over that, it does perform well, charges very fast compared to the 40V and will be my future in the Greenworks Ecosystem.I'm happy with this product which finally meets all of my hopes of a weed eater and helped bridge me to the new 80V world.

I purchased this tool alongside the leave blower. This tool is excellent and works very well. The joy of it is that I use the same battery that I use in my Greenworks Lawn Mower. I would recommend this tool to anyone.

I am starting to feel the effects of aging, and the repetitive task of pulling the gas propeller every summer has really taken a toll on my shoulders. So, I made the decision to explore alternatives and look for a battery operated weed wacker. Fortunately, I already have their lawn mower, which I purchased on sale and it came with two 80w batteries. I thought to myself, why not use these batteries instead of buying additional ones? The weed wacker works incredibly well, but the weight of the 80w battery that is attached to it feels like I am carrying around a 20lb baby while working.
