It worked very well to melt the ice dams on my roof preventing roof leaks.

We were having some problems with ice jams at the roof spouting causing some minor leakage into the house. This heat tape eliminated the problem. Installation was easy, if you don’t mind being up on a ladder. Just install the clips and attach the wire. The wire is well made and durable, and a good value for the money, especially when the aspect of damage prevention is considered.

Compared to a previous heat tape I have purchased, this one is much better. The thickness of this one is not as great, but it is vastly more flexible and pliable.I purchased the 50ft length and used a smart outlet to measure 346W when it is turned on, so basically right at the 7W/ft that is advertised. The instruction book is quite thorough and better than most products I see on Amazon these days.

While early in the season to think of cold in the northern hemisphere, it may be a good time to install this tape under the hot roofing shingles as they are softer and can bend more easily in the sun. Hopefully when time comes for freezing temperatures, ice will not firm as fast if the edges are warmed up, allowing for drainage. Recommended for utility.

If you live up north or out west, you're well acquainted with ice dames and how they occur. This is a great item to prevent and allow your gutters to do their job. You get ample length with this model M-75 which is 75' but these come in 25' all the way up to 160' looks like. Nice quality, seems durable, and also comes with clips to hang. Fast shipping

This heat cable heats whenever it is plugged in regardless of the ambient temperature. It doesn't use a thermostat. I personally prefer this as it's one less thing to go wrong in the middle of winter. There is 6 feet of lead in cord and 25 feet of heated cable. The grounded plug has a neon light that is on whenever it is plugged in.

During the Texas Freeze a couple years ago, all my rabbbits automated watering lines froze and i had to go find and fil ceramic tapered bowls to supply water to them a couple times a day. I bought this Heat Trace to pack inside some pipe insulation along with the water line to keep it thawed out during these kind of winters here. i plugged it in to test it and it pretty quickly became noticeably warmer after only about 30 seconds.
