I love this mill. When it looks like it's on it's way out, I get another one. It fits nicely in my pantry and does a good job grinding my wheat. As for durability, it's probably about average. Hard to say though since I bake and cook almost exclusively with fresh ground wheat.

I have read and watched just about every review I could on grain mills. I've been wanting one for years and years. Finally I got to where I could afford to buy one. My choice came down to this one and the Mock Mill. The Mock Mill was sold out so I purchased this instead, which was basically tied for my first choice in grain mills. Almost every single video or review I watched and read said they had both the Mock Mill and the blendtec grain mills and they loved both but used the blendtec every single day as opposed to the Mock Mill. They all said it was faster and could hold more while the Mock Mill was far quieter but didn't produce nearly the amount the blendtec does. So why own both if you never use one?My husband has celiac disease and I really wanted to have a mil that could beat the rice down with zero grit. I wanted something easy to clean and able to give me silky whole wheat pastry flour without a fuss. Despite reading that many people had issues with flour flying all over the place, this has not been my experience. Is it loud? Yes. But what do you expect? It's a very powerful motor made of metal. Did it make a mess? No. If you're afraid of that happening, cover it with a dishcloth while milling and BOOM, problem solved. I like the idea of one review that mentioned using a hair dryer to clean it after use since the flour is so fine and therefore can be a little static-y. This baby is a work horse and I'm so looking forward to many years of milling my own whole wheat pastry flour as well as any kind of gf flour to make my family culinary delights.

I love this wheat grinder! It grinds the wheat quickly and to whatever consistency you like. I have never been very successful at making homemade whole wheat bread but now it turns out so great!

My wife and I have been using this for a year now. I waited to write a review of this until we put it through the wringer. We grind both hard and soft wheat berries both to the full capacity of the clear container every two to three weeks. This is probably more than the average user but less than some of the large homeschooled families we know. It has worked as expected with no issues. We really like the clear container so we can see how much we've ground and how it looks. We haven't had any problems as some folks have with tabs breaking on it. Maybe that's because we have been a little careful without thinking about it. This was my biggest worry before buying it so I'm glad we haven't. Our only complaint would be that it's a bit awkward to handle at times since when empty it's top heavy. Like when we clean it after each use. It's tough to hold. There is no handle or comfortable way to hold it. It does get a little messy but this was expected. Previously we were grinding with a heavy duty hand mill and it seems that no matter how careful you are you are dealing with powdery dust and it's bound to get messy. This mill is better than others we've used. Other than the hand mill I had an old WhisperMill, now called the WonderMill. We liked that mill and didn't have any problems with it either. Used it for years until a house fire melted it. We wanted to try something a little different since it also was messy and awkward too. This one and that old WhisperMill are about the same as far as how loud they are. I'd imagine they are all going to be loud. For this reason and because of the potential mess, we grind every once in a while and store our flour in the freezer and use as we need it.Just wrote this to help everyone make a wise decision. If you are as tight as me than spending close to $200 is hard to do and you want to make sure it will work well and last. One thing for sure....this is soooo much better than grinding by hand. I still use the hand grinder for small quantities and for certain things this grinder won't work with such as peanuts. Everyone should try it the old fashioned way first. Then it's like walking or riding a bike for some time. You'll quickly appreciate the next time you get in the car!

This mill can't be beat for this price. I am really glad we got this one.The pros: This mill does grind a variety of flours, is inexpensive and simple. Easy cleaning, easy storage are other +The con - it only produces pretty fine milled flour, real coarse grinding is not possible. It can also happen that a kernel jumps out of the top while grinding but it is rare and no big deal.So far I ground oats, rye and quinoa. All three grind nicely into a very nice fine flour (on the "coarsest" setting, I don't even want to try the fine setting....)The grinding goes fast and there is some noise to it - while full it sounds like a coffee grinder and when it empties it sounds like a jet engine. Actually quite cool :-)For our two people household this grinder is more than enough. The bread I made from the freshly ground flour was really awesome. Having the flour so fine also has advantages for the quality of the baked good.

This machine does a superb job of grinding grain. The only draw-back is that I think you should wear ear protection when using it as it is so loud...like a jet taking off! Does a great job and we just put on ear phones to help block the noise. Nice to be able to see the ground grain (flour) in the clear bin too. I'd recommend this to anyone who bakes their own bread.

I bought this for milling rice into flour to make rice breads and other rice recipes. It has several settings for coarseness of the flour. At the lowest setting it makes a really fine powder. It is loud, so one should wear ear protection and eye protection because sometimes the grain flies out. Like it was mentioned in previous reviews, handle it with care when removing the container. Unplug first of course before removing the top just to make sure that one does not accidentally turn the switch on. The whole top of the miller comes off, one should tilt the head to one side, grab it from the bottom, and lift. Do not handle it from the top by the feeder side where there is a small plastic flap. It is not held in strong and can easily break. One should also not handle the little guide tab one each side as I do not think these are strong either. For improvements, perhaps somehow incorporate a handle so that users do not accidentally break off parts. Perhaps a better guard to keep grains from flying out. It is already a very good product so these improvements would make it even better.

Awesome product; just as described. Quick delivery, good service. I have just made some yellow pea flour and was very happy with the final product. I made some quick bread with the pea flour and was very happy with the bakingresult. I believe that this machine will give many years of good service.

This mill does a great job but I'm not sure just how well the clear plastic bottom will stand up. It seems like it would be easy to crack it.The instruction booklet doesn't have a lot of info in it and then there is the price. These grain mills are way over priced for the quality of the product.I 'm sure if there was more competition, the price would come waaaaaay down in a hurry. That being said, I am glad that I have it and will just have to hope that it will stand the test of time.
