The range hood works very well and really moves stove fumes. We have been using the fan daily over the past nine months with no issues. The fan is quiet and the only sound is that of air moving through the vent pipe. The unit is very well designed and built. We did contact customer service concerning an exhaust screen latch. They accurately diagnosed the issue and promptly sent a replacement latch.

Very nice unit. Make a big difference in the kitchen while cooking, the fans pull all the heat out. Would buy this unit again.

We’ve only had this installed for a few days but so far we’re pretty happy with it. The unit seems very well built and moves a lot of air. The LED lights are pretty bright and I like the timer for shutting off the unit. It looks nice and the price was reasonable. Time will tell if it lasts.

Cost several times more than our previous range hood. Not really sure we need a hood with remote control. Not even sure where it disappeared to. The large, dishwasher-safe grids are a plus. 4 speed fan moves plenty of air. The lights are bright and vastly better than the prior hood, though it might be nice if they were dimmable. The user interface took some getting used to. Having to turn the hood ON in order to then turn the fan ON is a bit different. The output vent opening is 6 inches so I had to find a reducer fitting to match it to the 7 inch existing duct work. The fan includes a one-way backdraft flapper to restrict airflow to go out only, consisting of two very thin bits of sheet metal. We live in a part of Southern California prone to our strong, Santa Ana winds blowing 60+ MPH dozens of times per year, sometimes for days on end, and the little metal backdraft vanes make a noticeable racket. Installation went pretty easy, but the permanently installed power cord's strain relief, and it's location toward the front right corner, instead of back by the vent opening, forced some minor surgery on the bottom shelf of the upper cabinet it's mounted to. All in all, a nice looking, effective range hood with a few odd attributes. Long as it keeps working I think we'll be happy with it.

Our original "top of the line" GE vent hood above our gas stove had a housing made of plastic which warped and bent, causing rattling noise when used, even on the lowest speed. The unit had a single fan which wasn't drawing enough away from the burners. The wire vents got extremely dirty and didn't clean with multiple washes. They became difficult to reinstall since the housing had warped down into the vent placement area.We searched many places for a 36" dual fan vent hood with metal baffle vents instead of mesh wire and found Ekon brand at Amazon. The dimensions met the needs almost exactly. We ordered and received in about a week. But, when opening the obviously damaged box, there was a dent on the front panel next to the controls that mapped to the tear in the packing box. We returned to Amazon and received a replacement in about 10 days. The second box was in worse condition, but the vent hood was unscathed.Installation was done by changing the vent stack from the previous GE rectangular connector to the Ekon's round connector. That was an inexpensive part from Home Depot. Rest of the installation went great with 2 people - it's heavy when you're trying to be exact with drilling holes for mounting but all units weigh about the same. The Ekon functions so much better than our previous hood. It draws much better and is quieter. Love the LED lights which you can adjust by press/hold until you get the appropriate level of brightness. Previous unit had very hot and non adjustable Halogen bulbs. The Ekon vent hood comes with a remote control to manage both lights and vent speed/on/off. We don't see a need for this but were intrigued how easy it was to use.The only issue with the second Ekon shipment and the damaged box was the baffle vents were knocked loose and were rattling around during shipment. One latch was broken and two vents were bowed/bent so didn't install nicely.Customer service was very accommodating and sent us replacement baffle vents which were perfect. Very pleased with the customer service during this process! My wife is happy now!

We installed this hood and realized the thing sucks~ but not in the way it’s supposed to.. It wasn’t working properly. It is very attractive, a good fit, great lights and easy to use. It was all perfect, except the sucking power was pretty weak and the front of the unit was actually blowing air back down. After getting a hold of customer service they were quite responsive and helpful. Through many emails I sent videos and they continually followed up with me and were persistent about making it right. The company ended up sending me a brand new unit, which works wonderfully; better than expected. It is a great hood, I have no complaints, and am so happy with the service they provided when we had a problem with the original hood. I would recommend and purchase from them again when possible.

This vent is expensive for the money but probably the only one out there in the slim design (6' height) with 600 CFM.Pros:- A decent looking vent that offers 600+ CFM in 6' heightCons:- Loud! Makes loud noise even at level 2. It's useless to run at level 1 since it does not suck any air at that speed.- Does not come with screws or any accessories. It didn't even have an owner's manual!- No lights dimming switch. They come on only at the brightest level. For this kind of price, one would expect this feature- Does not have a premium look and feelSummary: If you really need a slim height vent (6'0) with powerful (and loud) suction then this is probably the only choice. Otherwise, it is expensive and not worth the money.
