I bought this by mistake thinking it was a pair of rollers with the canvas strip you baste your fabric to before you scroll it on to the rod. This rod has clips like the Qsnap which I don't like so I returned it.

I ordered these for an extra set of rods. They work fantastic. I recommend them.

This is the first time I have used a scroll frame - I always used q-snaps and was intimidated by how to fix the fabric on regular scroll frames. Finally I started a piece too big to work on without rolling and got this. The good news is that it is a good hybrid solution - with snaps at the top and bottom. Make sure you read the instructions, and in particular the suggestion you insert a ribbon between the snap and the rod to allow you to pry it off. I used a 1-inch ribbon and tied the excess length (see pic). The ribbon allows you to pry the snap bit off - it's very tight to create tension (and normal q-snaps won't be tight enough). Also follow the instruction to put some batting around the scroll rod as you roll your piece on it. I also bought separately the 18-inch rods as an in-between length to the two rods provided. The only reason I took a star off was that although everything was well made and I am happy using it, the spreader bars were a bit rough and I was worried my threads would snag on them (and in fact one had a little splinter and otherwise felt unsmooth to the touch). This was quickly remedied with my sander and some 200+ sandpaper, but I can imagine it would be a hassle if you didn't have that lying around.

The image here shows the wrong item. I ordered it thinking I was going to get the bars pictured. Nope got the scroll rod.
