Easy Installation
This part is easy to install. Tips for replacing your ice maker:
- Turn off power and water: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker, and turn off the water supply
- Remove the front cover: Use tape to secure the flipper cover on the left wall in front of the ice maker
- Remove other parts: Take off the wire harness cover and the ice maker itself
- Attach the new mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate to the new ice maker assembly
- Plug in and slide: Plug in the wire harness and slide the ice maker assembly onto the mounting rails
- Reassemble: Replace the wire harness cover and reattach the front cover
- Turn power and water back on: Restore water and electricity to the refrigerator

Having bought a replacement ice maker kit a couple of years ago, turns out it never worked like a new replacement unit. Finally gave up on it and ordered this new ice maker kit. This one works great and fills the ice tray all the way up and then stops like it should when full! Glad to have ice when I need it! Installation was easy as I had done it before and did it without turning off the water and power. After a few hours it started cranking out the cubes! Finally got an ice maker that works!

I bought this to replace the one inside our Kenmore french door or side by side refrigerator. All I had to do was remove a screw from the retention piece, listen the screws or bolts holding it on the freezer wall.For me the hardest part was releasing the wire harness, my husband helped. I also had to cut out a u shaped area at the back of new part, so the water can flow into the ice trays.I didnt use the included extra wire harnesses or replacement bracket. I hooked the new ice maker on the bolts, tightened them up, replace the retention bracket. The ice maker now works and produces a lot of ice, I can dispense through the door. Not very difficult for this over 60 aged gal. My husband was impressed.Saved us money, no need to call a repair man or replace the whole refrigerator.
