As others have said, the plastic tube that should connect one side of the manometer tube to the suction of the radon system is useless. A larger PVC tube should have been included for the extra 10 cents it would cost - now you either have to buy some silicone or a larger diameter hose - so I can't install it right now. I went and bought a 5/16" plastic hose at HD and fit it on by running it under hot water. then drilled a 3/8" hole in the suction pipe and that worked nicely without having to silicone it in and it is nice and secure. Fluid is oily & viscous and so shouldn't evaporate over time. I don't really care that the scale reads INWC and won't be correct because this stuff is oil and not water and therefore a density difference - because all I really care about is recording the initial vacuum the fan is generating and checking its performance over time and seeing that a vacuum is present. Makes my DIY Radon mitigation system look pro! I also have a Airthings radon detector which I'll watch more than I check this device. Works well to indicate that a vacuum is present in the suction line. Easy to see. All this would have taken for 5 stars is a better hose.Update - I went to check the vacuum and the tube rotated on the top mounting screw because the lower sticky tape let go and when this happened, the blue oily fluid got sucked into the radon fan suction so it's gone. I shouldn't have relied on the sticky tape to hold it in place. I wondered what to use to replace the blue fluid and decided on red transmission fluid. Its density is about 830 Kg/M3 so is probably close to what the blue fluid was. I put enough in so that with no suction, the balanced fluid was at the zero mark on the scale and once connected, the differential was the same as the blue fluid. Also - because it is oil, it won't evaporate. I wanted to add this comment so it may help others if they also lose their fluid. My fault - I should have secured it better but it won't happen again!

I added this to my heavy duty vent system in my spray paint booth. I wanted to be able to tell if vaccume dropped when I was working. This is easy to install and super easy to read, even from across the room.

This Midcvfrun Easy Read Manometer works well as a furnace filter differential pressure indicator.I will have to purchase some more tubing in order to finish installing it as a differential pressure indicator, but that is a very cheap add on so that I can clearly see when my furnace filter needs to be changed out.I will also have to remove a small amount of fluid from this manometer to obtain a "0.0" inches of water column reading. My photo shows that my manometer has a 0.2 inches of water column reading while not in use.I recommend the Midcvfrun Easy Read Manometer.

It's plastic but comes with indicator liquid and ready to use. No complaints. This would be an install and leave type of instrument since it's kind of disposable so to speak.

This was a little bit of a letdown. Out of the box this looked like a great manometer. The blue dyed mineral oil provides a good indication and the scale can be moved to properly zero the manometer. The included hose is pretty useless on its own. The outside diameter of the hose is much less than the inside diameter of the manometer tube and there are no fittings included to make this hose work with the gauge. I ended up finding a piece of spare 1/4' hose that fit properly around the manometer tube. I use this to measure the pressure differential between my garage attic and house attic to evaluate the pressure in the house attic to verify the whole house fan is being ventilated properly. Once I got this set up with the proper hose, it worked well. But, this kit should provide the proper hose and fittings out of the box.

The manometer works. How could it not? A u-tube manometer is simple and calibrated by design. It is supplied with a piece of clear tubing too short to be any use, and which does not fit the manometer tube diameter. The instructions say maybe glue it with silicone. For the price, this simple bent piece of plastic should at least be supplied with a usable length of connection tube, with fitting to interface the tube to the manometer. In the photo I've set up the manometer with my own piece of pneumatic tubing, and my own custom-cut stopper to interface tubing to the manometer. It is indicating head pressure across my HVAC filters.

The title for this U-tube manometer says "Professional U-Shaped Air Pressure Indicator". The photo in the ad and the item itself shows "inch wc" at the top of the scale, but the major scale divisions are 3/4" apart. In order to read inches water column, the blue mineral oil would need to have a 1.33 specific gravity. In fact, the specific gravity of the oil is less than 1.00 because it floats on water. Under "About this item" the ad says Reads 0-4.5" WC, but the scale is (2+2)x3/4"=3" high so it will read less than 3" water column. (The enclosed instructions "For general ventilation purpose only" state "The markings are not calibrated".) Further, the included 1/8"IDx10" long tubing doesn't fit the U-tube and requires "silicone sealant" (not included).Rather than delay my project by returning the U-tube, I locally purchased PE tubing that fit and taped a copy of a ruler over the scale. I dumped the blue oil and washed and refilled the U-tube with water using a squirt gun. Now the U-tube scale reads inches water column directly and works as intended for my indoor project.

This manometer is supposed to read 0-4.5" WC pressure. The included instructions say the readings are not calibrated, but they still should be close. In reality we have oil (not water) in the tube and the distance between 0 and 1 marks is 0.75". This device will show something, but not inches of water column. The U-tube has a 8 mm OD and 5.4 mm ID. The included plastic tube has 4 mm OD. There is no provision for connecting this tube to the U-tube except for advice to use some sealant. This is unacceptable. I will have to find a way to connect the U-tube to my sump pump well and it is not going to be the included plastic tube.

This seems pretty well on par with the Manometers that I've seen. It works just the same as those others too, indicating suction in the radon vent. You can also visually monitor the amount of suction over time to determine how your fan is working. They provide the 3/16 vinyl tube (crucial for making this work). They also provide a mounting screw and the label that is used to indicate zero level and where you record the other essential important info at the time of installation. I like the blue color, it appears more visually benign than red options. The gauge can be slid up or down at the time of mounting to precisely align the neutral level in the meter tube to zero. It does come with some brief/basic install instructions. Note that you will need some silicone sealant to install the 3/16" tube into the suction section of your vent pipe. Also worth noting, these systems should really be installed by mitigation specialists to insure your system is working and installed properly, improper installation can make your radon exposure worse.
