This is my second Earthway winter salt spreader. My first one rusted out after 5 to 10 years. This time I purchased the commercial version. It is supposed to be rust proof and much more durable. It appears to be so. I've only been using it for winter 2021 but so far it works extremely well. It is a large unit. Significantly larger than the non commercial unit. I would have preferred a more durable version of the smaller spreader. Everything about this unit is strong and durable. The spreader control is far superior to the non commercial version.The assembly instructions are very difficult to follow. References to specialized parts are useless unless you're in the salt-spreader industry. I am very mechanically inclined and I spent hours deciphering the assemly instrucitions. They are not intuitive. I looked online for an earthway assembly video. I located one for a different version of the Earthway spreader. It wasn't a perfect match but it was close enough to make it much easier to assemble this unit.This is an excellent piece of equipment. It is not perfect, but I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this because it was stainless and I wanted it to last. The holes where the salt drops into the broadcaster are too small and it clogs easily with rock salt. The residential 50 lb version of the spreader works better and I have hade several, but they wear out sooner.
