The baffles adjust for edge control and the pneumatic tires handle uneven ground. This unit is not recommended for rock salt, sand or sand mixes. For the past couple of years I used my Scotts fertilizer spreader for ice melt and after awhile it rusted out. Purchased this item as it was made for ice melt. Assembly was easy, had it together in less than 30 minutes. The first time I used it, it was amazing. Loved that it came with a cover to protect the ice melt in the bin while spreading.I did not use all the spread the first time and left the remaining ice melt in the bin covered. When I went to use it again, I filled up the bin, covered it and headed out. I noticed that no ice meat was coming out. I had to empty the bin of all the ice melt and noticed that the ice melt I left in the bid had hardened and clogged the openings. Once I cleared the openings it worked fine. So now I just monitor the ice melt and make sure there is nothing left when done. Before filling I check the openings and make sure they open and close with ease.Would I purchase again. Yes for $149 it was worth it. For the listed price of $221, not so sure.

Works well. Assembly and installation of the handle was not a problem contrary to other opinions. The price was ok but seems like the quality could be a little better. Size is great for my larger residential driveway. Works best with the calcium chloride.

This worked pretty good for several salting applications. It’s still new and I’ll update after the snow season.

My husband love his new salt spreader. We had been using a seed spreader for years thinking that it was just fine, but after using this one this winter, we would never go back. So many features make this tool perfect and easier to use with salt. A great purchase, super sturdy and so convenient!

Versatile construction and easy to assemble if you have a decent eye for assembling things. The directions are as good as asking a dog for the best way to clean your shoes. You get absolutely nothing out of them.Other then that, the real rubber tires are great for getting through snow without the wheels gliding. Hold plenty of salt for sidewalks and paths and is easy enough to push when full.All around a solid product with the price. You can obviously get much better but you will pay accordingly, this I see as a healthy compromise
