The Eagle FD-25-SX5 flex spout is a 12" long flexible spout 5/8" in diameter for use with Eagle Type II safety cans (sold separately) to facilitate pouring. The spout is made of steel, which is resistant to rust and wear.

Hazardous storage cans are used to safely store, transport, and dispense flammable or hazardous liquids. They are typically made of polyethylene, 24-gauge galvanized steel, or 24-gauge stainless steel. (Gauge is a measure of thickness; the lower the gauge, the thicker the material.) Hazardous storage cans come in a variety of styles, such as Type I cans, which have a single spout for filling and pouring, and Type II cans, which have a flexible metal hose for pouring and a second opening for filling. They are often color-coded for different liquids (for instance, red cans for gasoline, blue cans for kerosene, yellow cans for diesel fuel, or green cans for oil). Other common features include flame arrestors, which help prevent the liquid inside the can from igniting, and seam welds, which help prevent leaks. Certain hazardous storage cans are FM Approved, and many meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for the storage and handling of flammable liquids. Hazardous storage cans are used in a variety of commercial and industrial environments and can also be suitable for home use.

Eagle Manufacturing Company manufactures industrial safety, haz-mat, and storage products that meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards for quality assurance. The company, founded in 1894, is headquartered in Wellsburg, VA.

the spouts are poorly designed and they come apart within a few ( 2 to 3) usages

Perfect fit, I ordered as a spare and also as an alternative size to the spout (7/8") that came with my Eagle Type 2 safety can. Like having two cnas in one! Inexpensive as well.

Well quality and does exactly what I ordered it for. Pours a little quicker than the original spout.

Nice flexible narrow spout for the Eagle type-II gas cans. My hose disconnected from the connector, which screws on the tank. Learned after I ordered a replacement, one may disconnect the complete spout unit, remove the black washer, then solder the tube back in place, far away from the gas tank! Now I have two spouts, in case the tube ever disconnects again. If you ever notice gas leaking at the connector, your spout hose probably is beginning to break free. Make sure it is completely dry of gas before repairing, if you want to fix it instead of replacing. For only $10, I would probably buy another replacement sprout. if it keeps failing. Note: The 5/8" spout is the NARROW spout. The 7/8" spout is the wider unit, recommended for larger gas tanks.

good construction, but pours slow if filling a car gas tank. would be the right flow rate for a gas powered lawn tool. I will try a 7/8 OD spout from same company. Drips a little at where it threads to the can. May be able to tighten with a wrench or use thread tape.

Today, plastic spouts don't bend well, and crack over time. The above spout has none of these problems, and is great for any size jug.I would like to see it adopted as a universal fit for all fuel jugs.

This is a very well made precision machined spout that threads onto the pour valve housing of the Eagle Type II gas can. It's easily installed and removed to prevent damage and allow for additional space, especially while the can is being transported. In my opinion, this spout is superior to those of competitors like Justrite. The Justrite spout is also well made but is flange-mounted, requiring tools (#2 Phillips screwdriver) to install and remove. No tools are required for the Eagle spout. A final comment, regarding spout size: I purchased an Eagle can with a 7/8" spout and ordered this smaller diameter spout as well because I wasn't sure that the 7/8" would pass through the small-diameter inlet to my vehicle fuel tanks. I found that, while it's a tight fit, this 7/8" spout works fine. DUH! I should have done more research, but the inlet measurements I took before ordering looked VERY close. Any remaining burr or machining imperfections at the end of the 7/8" spout would have prevented access. No worries; I'll be using the smaller spout to refill tanks on my lawn care equipment. This spout fits into tighter spaces and (presumably) will allow better control of flow rate.

Fit as advertised. I bought a half-inch vacuum plug to cover the end to avoid dirt and dust settling inside.
