Purchased this to install in our fathers boat. He has been having issues with the boat battery going dead while running the boat. Granted this does way more power then what is needed on a boat... But we were able to figure out that the boat alternator was no charging. This was a great addition to the helm to see that all parts of the boat were working okay. You don't want to be caught in the middle of a lake with a dead battery.The unit it self did take a little bit of work to install for our application. But I can see this going very smoothly (granted wiring) for a car.
