These are made to slide off and they will if you trailer for a long distance. So this time I drilled and taped a screw hole and inserted a bolt and washer in the end of the shaft to keep the handle from vibrating off.

fit my Dutton-Lainson winch perfectly. What else can I say but that I was missing the handle and this was an exact fit.
