these are a good buy, not expensive and for your shade tree mechanic or home owner its perfect. or it is for me anyway.

I would highly suggest these vice grips, they are very well-made and feature a rubber grip on the quick release, my only complaint compared to the higher dollar brands is the adjustable bolt is not cut for a screwdriver for extra clamping power like higher end versions. You could always make your own with a different bolt or cut a slit in the bolt head for a flathead screwdriver bit to fit in.

Thought I’d add this to my tool box for extra support while welding. Really love how well made they are they don’t seem like cheap tools I think I’m covered with the support I was looking for with them.
