These clamp pliers are good for hoses that are 3/4" and below as the opening is up to 1inch. The pliers ratchet smoothly but to release isn't that smooth. I like how they are not plastic like many hose clamp pliers. These pliers allowed me to clamp off my coolant line while I switched out the heating core on my truck.

This ratcheting hose pinch off pliers worked great when I tested it using a 3/4" hose. It should work well on flexible hoses smaller than that, too. I did not have hose handy larger than 3/4" to test on, but this pliers won't work on hose that is much larger that that. Maybe 1", so larger radiator hoses, especially on older cars, may need something else to pinch those lines.The ratcheting mechanism worked easy on the hoses I tested it on and it held nicely until I chose to release it. This tool will help to minimize the mess and amount of fluid lost when disconnecting a hose and would be a nice addition to any hobbyists workshop.

Not a bad pair of pinch of pliers here but I just mis judged the size, These pliers will only work for smaller hoses probably 3/4" or so. But they seem to work fairly well. Took 1 star off for the oily finish that I had to use half a can of brake cleaner to get it all off.

This tool is always handy when you need to pinch a hose (changing fuel filters, etc.) The ratchet works smoothly. The pinch "teeth" have a smooth cap so as not to damage the hose. Smooth action, strong hold. Exactly as they should be! Recommended!

Very nice pinch off pliers from Workpro, my pair arrived very well oiled to avoid corrosion. A quick wipe down took care of that. The ratcheting mechanism works very well to hold them in place, and is easy to release as well. Overall these are exactly as described, and perform as expected.

It seems very well constructed and should work without any problem given that it only needs to fight against rubber hoses. It is also very easy to use. It completely is a no brainer. However, don't expect it to work with big hoses. I measured it. It seems that the largest hoses it can work with is about 1 inch in diameter. So it might not be able to deal with upper and lower coolant hoses on your cars. But it should work very well with power steering fluid hoses and smaller coolant hoses and vacuum hoses. Don't use it on brake hoses! That will kill the hoses quick.

Nice locking Pinch pliers, Just very oily from the package. So do a nice clean wipe down before using this.
