I really like this hoop. It keeps tension quite well. It is solid plastic with a metal bolt and I think it will hold up for the rest of my life.

I never post reviews. Struggled with what was the best mfger to buy from after reading many reviews online. Currently used a plastic frame (never got cloth tight, difficult to adjust, etc.) for a 16x16 crewel project. Bought this, no words! Awesome - fabric is tight, solid hoop material, tightening adjustment quality wing nut, bolts etc.And with PRIME 1 day delivery vs other competitors days, week out to receive. Very satisfied.

I will be replacing ALL of my hoops with this no-slip variety! This hoop is sturdy and easy to use. The plastic has a nice weight to it, looks well made, and is comfortable to work with!

My daughter uses this for punch needle and this Dritz 3201 Plastic Hoop works far better at holding the Monk's Cloth in a very firm grip than the wood hoops she had been using.

I use mine for hand quilting, it is comfortable to work with and holds the fabric well, just make sure of the size you order, I ordered the wrong size and the company kindly emailed me to check my size.

I love to do embroidery, but some hoops don’t keep the fabric taut enough and you have to keep adjusting the hoop. This hoop keeps fabric just right and makes embroidery mush more fun . The best hoop .

This hoop is sturdy. It has a groove and bump that fit well together. I am in the process of hand quilting a king size quilt. This hoop is like new after months of quilting. It holds the layers firmly together. It is big enough to fit a nice size area of quilting and yet is not too big to work with in my lap. I've used wooden hoops in the past and have broken a few. They just aren't as solid and sturdy. I expect this one to last many a quilt. Btw, I almost never write reviews, but I'm really wowed by this product.

I bought this for my inaugural attempt at hand quilting. It works well but not perfectly. I had a bamboo hoop this size and although this is slightly better it is not much improvement as far as slipping goes. Still, it holds the thick layers in place pretty well so altogether it is OK.

I was hand quilting a twin sized quilt with a 14" wooden embroidery hoop. I could do it but the outer frame didn't enlarge enough to make it easy to put the quilt in and the frame itself was only 1/2" high so it was flimsy for the weight of the quilt. I saw this hoop on Amazon. The first thing that attracted me was that the outer hoop could be expanded a lot more than my current hoop. It tightens with a wing nut. The frame is a lot higher and sturdier than my wooden hoop. It is plastic. I've used plastic embroidery hoops before and they always slip so I was skeptical but willing to try it out. The hoop arrived and I discovered that there is a ridge that fits into a groove where the two hoops meet. The quilt doesn't slip! It was easy to put the quilt into the hoop. Moving it to a different part of the quilt was a snap. There was a lot more room to work under the quilt now. The hoop is very sturdy and easy to work with. I love the way the outer hoop cinches down. The upshot of this is I did more quilting than I planned because the quilting hoop was so easy to work with. I definitely recommend this 14" quilting hoop.
