Rugged, works well and is easy to clean.I got this to replace a plastic one that cracked. I've waited to review it until we got through a season and it did great through the winter! I keep it on a heater pad to prevent freeze and there were no issues. It's easy to carry, open, clean and fill.As for the concerns about sharp edges... I didn't find any that were extremely sharp or dangerous. Nothing out of what I expected from metal farm equipment. If you're super sensative, wear gloves. Most of us have gloves on while feeding a variety of livestock and farm animals. Not everything can be "toddler-safe."Overall, this is a great waterer and I have no issues or concerns. Worth the money for a thick metal feeder that will last.

Works as intended. We'll made waterer. Easy to clean. Chickens don't try to get on top if it's on the ground level due to the design, ie Can be hung as well. I put it on a heater plate on a block for winter use. Water stays warm.

I purchased this for my run where I sometimes separate my chickens and needed a good auto water there.This works well. It is smaller than the auto water inside the coop so it is easier to move around, but it still usually lasts for 3 days between fillings for me.

Inner can wall is very thin metal, similar to AC ductwork, maybe even thinner. I do like the handle because I always hang waterers. It is more securely attached than others. The other potential weakness of this waterer is the pin that holds the outer shell. It passes through the inner wall, very thin as noted, will the weight of 2 gallons of water rip the pin out??

Very happy with this item, just wished that I would have gotten a 5 gallon instead of 2 gallon. But it will do the job for 12 chickens.

This is very easy to clean and filled up…its a 2 gallon so good for under 10 chickens. Ship really fast. I would buy again.

If this is not perfectly level the water will pour out of it, it’s a pain to fill up, and living off grid, water is priceless. I would lose half the water trying to get it in place
