About this item

  • 【Smooth PEO PET Holographic Build Plate】No need to choose between PEO and PET—IdeaFormer-3D combines both! One plate, two premium surfaces—switch between patterns without swapping plates. Upgrade your 3D printing experience today!
  • 【High-Strength Spring Steel Bed Plate】IdeaFormer-3D’s build plate delivers premium spring steel with exceptional flatness and elasticity for consistent prints. With warp resistance even after repeated use.
  • 【Optimal First-Layer Adhesion for PEO+PET Print Plate】For the best results with PEO+PET build plate, we recommend: “PLA: 60~65℃; PETG: 70-80℃”. For Bambu Lab X1 X1C X1E Users, please disable "Enable detection of build plate position" to prevent adhesion issues.
  • 【Essential Build Plate Cleaning for Flawless Adhesion】Thoroughly clean the build plate between every print; spray with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol (IPA); wipe firmly with a lint-free towel using straight strokes. Even microscopic oil residues (from fingerprints, dust, or previous prints) can cause adhesion failure.
  • 【Package Included】1 x PEO PET bed plate (Smooth Diamond PEO+Carbon Fiber PET Double Sided Printing) Compatible for Bambu Lab X1C/X1/X1E/P1P/P1S/A1.

I bought this to be an extra plate for my Bambu Lab A1 3d printer. Since buying it, I have found myself only using it to print as some of my prints do not like the Bambu Labs plates. I have cleaned them and this plate still works better 100% of the time. I have yet to have a print fail on this plate due to adhesion. I have printed over 100 prints, both small as well as tall. Even the smooth side works perfect for me! I will definitely be buying a few more of these.

I used it on my A1 to print a display shelf for some other prints, using the instructions provided, I didn't have too many problems. The prints do warp a lot, I'm not sure why but that was mostly during cool down. The texture is fine, small prints and details won't stick super good unless you really play with settings. The plate feels pretty close to the original pei sheet in terms of flexibility. It's not the cheapest plate but better than waiting for AliExpress shipping.

Really like the colourful transfer onto my prints. Makes for a great effect in lighting and especially in pieces that move and hit the light differently. Plate adhesion is great with both PLA and PETG and gets great print quality. Was surprised by the very smooth first layer. Quite reflective finish that is extremely smooth. Good value for my use.

I had a previous review here, but this is better...I have the carbon fiber and diamond patterns both. The plate thickness is very similar to the Bambu originals. I struggled to get good adhesion to both of these plate designs. I put aside the diamond (which I found marginally worse) and focussed on the carbon fiber design as I had an application need.First - you do need to disable bed position detection in Bambu studios. Lots of help online on that and really just a box to click so no big deal. The included instructions suggest adhesion problems can be overcome by moving from the recommended smooth plate selection to a textured plate selection and then if that fails to solve the problem, as a final step, modifying the g-code. I tried all of these (the g-code sounds daunting, but it isn't too bad once you do some online searching); however, none of these sorted my adhesion problems (yes - I did detergent wash the plates too - avoiding even 99% isopropyl alcohol dilutant residue). So - back to basics. After some experimentation I did have good success in getting a nice carbon fiber look bottom layer. The trick for me on my Bambu X1 Carbon (latest version @ 15 July 2024) was to make the following changes: 1) increase bottom layer thickness from 0.2 mm to 0.25 mm, 2) decrease the speed for the bottom layer perimeter from 50 to 20 mm/s, and 3) decrease the bottom layer infill speed from 105 mm/s to 20 mm/s.

This is great. A quick wash with dish soap first, and it worked perfectly. PLA stuck to the smooth side for the initial layer and released when finished with a simple flex of the plate. PETG is sticking to the textured side with no problem. a must have at a great price.

While the concept here is cool, they really cheap'd out on the material and fabrication of these plates. These don't just work with the X1C out of the box. There's all sorts of crap you've got to do to get them to even begin to work, and most of the time your prints will fail anyway. It doesn't matter how much you clean these stupid things, either. Even after cleaning with 99% IPA and wearing rubber gloves to handle the plate, it still has about a 10% success rate, and the successes look like crap because it's usually dragging strings around that didn't adhere. These are lazily fabricated. I'd wait until someone is releasing these with QR codes that the X1C recognizes and the adhesion issues have been sorted out. Other prismatic PEI plates that actually work are coated with something that increases adhesion. You can physically feel that these plates do not have that. They are always smooth to the touch, never tacky, which is the opposite of what you want.Yes, I've gone through all the troubleshooting forums online about these stupid things and tried every recommendation. The only time I've had a successful print is after doing the following:1) Put the textured PEI plate on2) Calibrate a print to the textured PEI plate3) Change the plates4) Turn off the "Enable plate detection" setting (if you don't do this it NEVER works)5) Set up your print with the Smooth PEI Plate selection6) Turn on a minimum of 7mm outer brims7) Increase plate heat to at least 50C7) Make sure to enable bed leveling and extrusion calibration when sending to the printer8) Watch closely and MANUALLY REMOVE all of the strings from the hot end that don't adhere to the plate, before it starts printing the part(s)9) Pray that the first layer adheres10) Stop print and repeat 9 more times until it works, because it definitely didn't work the first time

EDIT: You can MOSTLY adhere PETG HF if you slow the first layer print speed from 55 mm/s to 20 mm/s, boost the bed temp from 60 to 100 C, and print large flat things. But they still have holes. I've been DMing with support and we've run out of ideas.Tried everything but bambu PETG HF just won't stick. Tried two different plates (same brand), 2 colors of filament, 70/90/100 C bed, 0.04 mm, 0 and 0.01 mm first layer heights, washing the plate (cold water and dawn dish soap), textured and smooth plate settings, and my P1S printer doesn't have an auto bed detection setting to disable... I just don't think the plate's compatible with PETG HF. (The default printer plates work fine, PETG sticks like duct tape.)

I'm not having the adhesion issues that others reported.I just coat the bed in a layer of Bambu Labs liquid glue, and everything has worked out great.Pattern gets applied well to parts and looks really cool. There is one issue that I haven't seen anyone else mention though:The nozzle cleaning tab on the back of the build plate is sharp. Because the plate has to slide into the X1C bed at an angle, the sharp tab scrapes the rubbery coating on the bed.I'll probably end up printing a little TPU cover for it to prevent the scraping.

I ordered this bed to replace using diffraction grating film or 3m vinyls. The product arrived same day and packaged nicely for safe transport.I absolutely love PEI beds and love this bed for the unique diffraction pattern it produces on the first layer of my prints. Previously I used diffraction grated film taped onto my beds, or 3m vinyl wraps like carbon fiber or forged carbon fiber, however the longevity of usage is not so great with film or vinyl. When I use these beds with the diffraction pattern side up (it has dual sides, normal PEI textured or the diffraction grating side (triangles) ) I mostly stick with PLA and TPU. Ideaformer states that you should only use PLA, TPU, PETG, or ABS, however I have limited success with PETG and ABS due to poor bed adhesion. The maximum rated temp for these beds is a solid 180c and I don't know many people that ever set their bed past 100c, most printer beds are not even capable of going over 110c. I have no issues with PLA and TPU adhering to the bed. I set bed temp to 65c for both PLA and TPU.I use this bed on both my Bambu Labs X1 and my Ankermake M5. On the Ankermake M5 it is a little larger than the bed itself but this hasn't been an issue at all. I have completed several hundred prints on the Ankermake M5 using these beds with zero issue. Some people cut the bed to perfect size but I find that unnecessary, plus I can swap the bed from my Bambu to Anker printer without issue. Ideaformer makes these beds with 3 different patterns, small triangles (this one), carbon fiber look, and "starry night". I own all 3 and love them!To ensure the best results... hopefully your first layer game is on point!I would definitely recommend this to others!
