It worked for a couple of weeks, but then quit. It keeps tripping the GFI plug . I had to go to aeration to keep my pond from freezing over.

Bought this for my large pond for my Michigan winter, went out side today to check on my pond and it was steaming and completely melting my net and the heater it’s self was melted!! I believe I definitely was a could hours from a major fire! Do not buy this item.

Protects the pond with the plastic casing around it. Had one before. Only lasted 1 year.

My 1000+ gallon goldfish pond is at least 1/4 de iced even in this brutal NY cold spell. My bubbler is working just fine, and the fish are definitely appreciating the heat. Even with the warm temperatures in this roller coaster weather it didn’t overheat and burn my net. And it doesn’t hurt the fish, obviously. They form a little circle around on the coldest days, so cute and im glad they are safe.

Great heater. Use it in a 8 foot diameter water trough. We have dropped to 19 degrees here in Texas and the water trough did not even have ice on it.

Great' but you should get it in the water, BEFORE the water freezes over. After that, a lot of hot water to make a large enough hole so the heater can be positioned with the coils below the water surface is necessary

The DOUBFIVSY Pond De-icer, advertised as a floating pond heater with thermostatic control, has unfortunately been a severe disappointment and hazard. My personal experience with this product was alarming; the heater caught fire while in use, creating an immediate danger to my pond's ecosystem. The incident was particularly distressing as it nearly resulted in the death of my exotic ducks, which rely on a safe environment for their survival. This heater's design, meant to prevent ice formation in ponds during winter, appears to have significant flaws, especially in terms of safety. The fire not only posed a threat to the wildlife but also to the surrounding area, potentially leading to substantial property damage. The automatic shut-off feature, which should prevent overheating, evidently failed in this case.Given these experiences, I would strongly advise against purchasing the DOUBFIVSY Pond De-icer for anyone looking to keep their pond ice-free. The risk of fire and the potential harm to pond inhabitants far outweigh any benefits this heater might offer. For those in need of a pond heater, it's crucial to opt for products with proven safety records and positive user feedback, ensuring the well-being of both the pond's ecosystem and the surrounding environment.
