Worked to blow air in the summer, but doesn’t control temperature properly on heat settings in winter. They will credit but I need to find another one first! Frustrating!

It works better then my broken one but to my surprise this OEM replica doesn’t look like very oem in the dash at night with all white LEDs

Worked good for a couple of months. Then the display went super light and you cant see it at all during the day. Woukd not have bought it if I new. Would have got my original rebuilt.

Original unit started failing, lights not work, dials not adjusting correctly and finally speed control acting up. Installed in my 03 Avalanche and programmed unit to my truck and gained all functionality of the original. Lights are brighter the back lights on the other original modules but I’m sure the originals have dimmed with age.

Purchased Dorman 599-211 HVAC Control Module on January 20, 2020. Item physically fits as advertised; however, it does not function like OEM as advertised:1. Product will not sync in auto mode for driver and passenger side by holding the Auto button. Auto mode is available on each side but not synced. OEM control module synced temp and placed self in Auto mode when holding the Auto button.2. When vehicle is started and engine is not at operating temperature, unit (in auto mode with temp @ 72) runs wide open. OEM part in auto mode did not increase fan speed until vehicle was at operating temperature when calling for heat.3. When in heating mode and set to auto mode on both sides at 72. Unit randomly blows cold air and warm air. It appears to cycle warm to cold continuously.4. Following on to number 3 above, taking the module out of auto mode and setting the fan at a fixed speed does not correct the varying / cycling temperature.5. I purchased this unit because the lights were not functioning on my factory HVAC control module. While I'm excited that the lights on the new unit work properly, they are actually distractingly bright. having to dim the dash lights to make this less distracting, I have to almost dim all other dash lights to dark to achieve this. Suspecting this was due to other dash lights being week, I purchased and installed all new dash controls in hopes of having consistent lights on all dash switches and buttons. The HVAC module remains exceptionally bright compared to the other new dash switches / lights.6. I replaced the original HVAC controls module due to failure of lights on unit. The OEM unit functioned perfectly other than the lights on some buttons not working.7. I have double checked my programing of the module as instructed by unit packaging and feel that I have the unit programmed correctly.

My heater wasn't switching off of vents. As soon as I installed this and programmed it, Which by the way the instructions were a little off. It was the AC button I had to press after I got it to the correct code, " code 3 for hummers" not the recirculate button like the instructions said. It immediately work perfect. Used ones were going on ebay for $600 + when I looked and this one cost a fraction of that. I hate how everyone thinks just because its a hummer, parts should cost 10 times more. It's just a GMC. Anyway, Well worth the money.

The good, lights and display are nice and bright. Very easy installation.The bad, the description does not tell you that this does not support the auto function where one knob will control both sides of the heat/ac setting like the factory module does. If you want the same temp on both sides of the vehicle you have to adjust each side individually.

I gave this product a try given it was relatively inexpensive. Unfortunately the cheap price isn't enough to make this product worth buying. It lacks the ability to do most of the features of the stock unit and stopped working completely after only 3 months (just outside of the return window).While it has dual zone temperature controls it can't actually do dual zone climate control simultaneously. (When you set a temp it only does one side or the other.)Unit "hunts" constantly for the requested temperature when operating in Auto mode switching back and forth between warm and cool.Cold starts: the stock unit waits for the engine to warm up before blowing air. This unit starts blasting cold air as soon as you start the engine.The LED backlighting is blinding at night.The display dimmer gets stuck in the dim'est setting making it impossible to see in daylight.No ability to sync settings between driver and passenger side.You are better off buying a used stock unit from a junk yard or Ebay...

Nice unit for the money, display is perfect and everything functions correctly. follow the damn directions after the install to program the unit according to your vehicle and model year or it won't work right and you will give bad reviews cause you go to the school of the mechanically declined. The only con would be that the lights for the controls are much brighter than all the stock buttons on the dash, other than that, the unit is awesome.

Plug and play, right out of the box! The LED lights are nice, wish the rest of my dash was LED.
