Works exactly as described it's not directly plug and play due to it needing to be hardwired to your ring doorbell but this is also allowing me to charge my ring doorbell as well as using the doorbell itself really nice all-in unit....

I have long considered getting a second battery for my Ring 2 doorbell. We had an original Ring doorbell at our old house, and it was wired, which was ideal. The battery-operated Ring 2 lasts for a full month, but when I have to charge it, my home is without its protection or a functioning doorbell at all.No longer.This AC adapter has eye hooks which are designed to fit perfectly with the screws provided with my Ring 2, and its power range (18VAC) is well within the range the unit accepts (8-24VAC). Time will tell if this adapter lasts, but once installed and plugged in (my unit is placed on the garage exterior wall, and connects to an outlet inside the garage), it immediately recognized a hardwire setup, and it is compatible with the battery, so even a power outage wouldn't pose a problem (except for the wifi).My only concern is for its longevity. I had a different adapter/transformer for this unit, which failed almost immediately, but that unit was more complicated (required a fuse and some minor soldering); this one is ready to connect out of the box.I'd also have appreciated a small instruction sheet, but it wasn't necessary in my case. For others, though, it would help, especially since this adapter claims it is compatible with multiple units from different brands. A small booklet with basic instructions for each would surely help.
