Hitch Installation
Installation on Bolt-on Axle
The Bolt-on Axle has a hex nut on both sides.It is common on fixed gear bikes or e-ebikes. The included hitch fits the Bolt-on Axle with maximum 12mm diameter.
Installation on QR Axle
The quick release axle is the most common type of axle. It has a lever that clamps the axle in place with an acorn nut on the opposite end.
Standard Dropout
Most bikes have a standard dropout.They won't all look like this, but the key point to look for is a flat area around the axle where the Hitch can lay flush against the frame.
Hooded Dropout
Hooded dropouts have a protruding metal hood that extends around the top of the dropout.They can prevent the Hitch from lying flush against the frame. In this case, you might need an adapter.(sold seperately)
Choose the Right Size of Trailer
Measure Your Dog
- The body length (A-B) is measured from the breast bone to the tail. Include some, but not all, of the tail if it is long. For really thick, hard tails, you should measure more of the tail, or else it will whack on the trailer every time they wag their tail. To this, add approximately 2 inches (5cm) for small dogs and 4 inches (10cm) for larger dogs to get the length of the dog.
- The shoulder height (C-D) is measured from the withers (highest bony part of dog shoulder blades) to the ground.

Our dog is pretty tall and weighs 60 lbs. This is the XL trailer. It is fairly lightweight, folds down nicely for storing in our RV, connects easily to my bike and has a lot of different openings and options of closing using the mesh door or weather proof door. There’s multiple pockets on the back flap to carry her supplies. Inside the floor is hard plastic, which I cut a yoga mat to fit so she doesn’t slide around. And there’s an adjustable leash attachment to secure your dog for safety. Since our dog is tall we wanted her to be able to put her head out. We highly recommend this trailer.

Obsessed. Has lasted longer than the expensive ones. Carries my 70lb lab fine. Will get another if it ever wears out.

This was a bit of a pain to assemble but in the end is great so long as someone holds your bike when loading and unloading.Put my 40 pound dog in it but she moves a lot causing me to have to adjust my steering.Put my two small Cavachons in it and it works great.

I am very impressed with the build quality, and it is aesthetically pleasing. It is easy to assemble and disassemble for storage. Disassembling for storage takes 10 - 15 seconds; so easy. Connects to the bike in a matter of seconds as well. I was worried about our 12-year-old girl Josi being afraid of it but once we put her in it and started driving around, she laid down and completely enjoyed the experience.Josi has degenerative myelopathy, so she is slowly losing the use of her hind legs. She used to run for hours at a time but now has a hard time walking a few feet. Anything we can do to get her out of the house is a bonus. The trailer will improve her life. She is 70lbs but longer and taller than most 70lb dogs; it fits her well. I strongly recommend this trailer if you have a four-legged friend who wants to be with you all the time, like Josi.

The doggyhut bike carrier assembly was simply & straight forward. The carrier’s nylon cover & steel frame feels sturdy . The inside of the carrier didn’t come with any mat or foam padding so look to pick one up so that your pet can sit / lay comfortably .The hardware that attaches to the bike that receives & locks into the doggyhut will come loose in time. The issue for me was that the rear tire rod was not long enough. (Solution) -I was able to buy a longer rear bicycle quick release tire rod along with a washer to prevent any slippage. Hope this helps with your decision making. Btw my pup is getting use to the carrier. Fun times ahead!!

We bought this Pet Bike Trailer for our 65lb labrador retriever, and it’s been a game-changer. The trailer is roomy, sturdy, and easy to attach to any bike. We use this with our electric bikes. It’s well-constructed with high-quality materials, and our dog loves riding in it. The mesh windows provide great visibility and airflow, which keeps her comfortable on our bike rides.The trailer wheel give a smooth ride and it handles well on both smooth and slightly rough terrain. It comes with everything you need to assemble it (tools). Also comes with the bike hitch. It hooked up to my bike perfectly and towed great. Our dog weights 46lbs and it handled her just fine. We did a little training with just the wagon in the living room. I would walk by it and toss in a few treats for her to fine. It folds up for storage. Our pup loved riding in it. Seems very sturdy and for a great price. It does weight approximately 31lbs.

Loved the size and ease of transport. But second trip turning while dog was moving caused it to flip over and really scratch and tear up badly almost not unusable now. Was excited now dog is scared of it
