Works great for a hot spot on my dogs leg he can stop licking. I will say this runs small, so go up a size. I have a small husky and the large is a tight.

My dog was able to pull it up and lick the wound. It is unfortunately lower onnhis leg but still. It's been less than 24 hours and he has already chewed it up and there was no damage this morning. He was able to chew it up in only a few hours.

My dog is not a big chewer, but she licks like crazy whenever she has a small cut or wound. After she had surgery on her leg we needed something to cover up the bandage wrap so she didn’t have to be in a cone 24/7. This seemed like the perfect alternative to an e-collar. She is an American Doberman, approximately 55lbs and we ordered an XL. The leg was loose and stretchy enough that her cast fit through the opening with some extra wiggle room and the chest fit perfectly and allows for easy adaptability with the Velcro, which is strong.HOWEVER, it went downhill within 15 minutes. She was left alone for 3 minutes and chewed open the area where the leg meets the chest. It was really disappointing but she did end up getting a replacement and so far shes not been able to chew through the replacement. So I don’t know if it was poor material on the first one or what. But the second one has been fine.

This is a great product with one caveat-I wouldn’t use it on an open elbow wound. The wound can’t “breath,” it caused discomfort for my dog and the wound started getting worse in the 25-36 hours we had it on. It fit great, seems durable and definitely a good alternative to a cone to prevent licking

Received this when asked by the vet to get a cone to prevent our dog from licking a hot spot on her elbow. We've tried the cone and the inflatable collars, and they work, but they still seem awkward to have to wear. After trying a sock that our pup thought was a game - when they put it on, I pull it off and bring it outside - this seemed like what we needed. The large size fits our 46 lb pit mix. She did want to chew on the end, but a little bitter mix of lemon juice and white vinegar is keeping her from chewing so for. After a couple days, we're very happy to have purchased this.

Our GSD injured himself and required stitches. The cone was horrible for him and us so we tried an inflatable cone - worked well but somehow he would work his way out of it. Decided to try this and it was amazing! We alternated to make sure we allowed ample air to the wound but it was great for sleeping at night and playing outside. Hair does stick to it but we washed every other day and it held up nice. I will say order size UP - i ordered xl (i did measure) and it was SNUG. It stretched enough to work but if I order another I will def go to 2X.

This sleeve has been amazing for me and my lab. I ordered size XL and it fits great. He has a wound on his left leg, and it is preventing him licking/ scratching it as it heals. Great quality and great fit. Velcro and fabric are great quality. Highly recommend.

My boy Bucky recently injured is leg. The vet said it was a complete break. We were given two options: A really expensive surgery or a splint that would require weekly visit. I chose the splint. We followed the vets instructions as well as we could. Bucky nor his brother ever touched/licked the cast. We put on the trash bag when he went outside. But we could tell it was still bothering him. He would just drag his leg on the ground vs limping on 3 legs. Plus he just looked like he was miserable. The next visit to the vet, his leg was actually worse. The vet said that we had to keep him confined in a little kenal. My man Bucky is a sweet loving fun pooch, but he is also extremely strong. We tried a kennel... a few minutes later, he was out and sleep on the ground next to it.I picked up this sleeve in an effort to help stabilize his leg and add another layer of protection from water. It went on super easy. After a few minutes of him getting use to it, he loved it. He was no longer dragging his paw on the ground. Actually his paw never touched the ground. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but there is a second opening opposite of the sleeve for the other leg. The other leg helps support the leg in the sleeve. So it's more of a harness than just a sleeve. His body weight help support his injured leg. He's doesn't really have to lift his leg, the sleeve, by design, keeps him leg elevated. It always the cast to breathe as well so you don't have to worry about any musty odors or moisture retention.Bucky is 77 lbs. We rescued him and his brother. Their mother is a pit, but i don't know the breed of the father. I bought him an extra large based on the chart. Now here is the trick. When I put it on him, I thought it was too tight. The sleeve was so tight, I couldn't get his paw to go all the way through and it really didn't fit right on his chest. But the sleeve will actually stretch and conform to the dog. After a few hours, the sleeve has conformed to his chest and his paw was sticking out. It was more like a compression garment. It was really stable. It was so comfortable, that I could not get him to sit or lay down. He was chasing his brother like he was all new again. It so comfortable that I only take it off to hand wash it. He sleeps in it without any issue. Now I still have to put a bag over his leg since his paw is exposed, but I don't mind that at all. They used really good velcro as well. I figured it would have slipped off by now, but since it stretches and conforms to the dog, you don't have to put it on super tight. I haven't had an issue with velcro or the sleeve moving out of place. Keep in mind that he still has a cast on his leg as well. It conformed to it. It not the typical velcro that your used to seeing. It's kinda like plastic velcro. It look really durable. You will have no issue washing it either. The next vet visit was incredible. Not only was it healing, but the bone was lined up perfectly. The vet had never seen a sleeve like that. I had to show him the Amazon page where I ordered it. He told me to leave it on him as much as possible. It doesn't really get dirty either. I caught Bucky rolling around in the dirt/grass. There was more dirt on him than the sleeve. A little soap, warm water, and just let it air dry. Now it will shrink back up, but don't worry, it will stretch back out. I really don't like saying that it stretches. As the dog moves, the sleeve conforms to that movement.Sorry for the "tall tail" LOL, but I had hard time deciding on which sleeve to choose. This one was a little pricey, but is it worth every single penny. You doggie is going to love it. Use the size chart. Don't freak out if it's a little tight at first, just give it a few hours, it will conform to your poochie.
