So this collar works very well. It definitely has the ability to get your dogs attention, and the strength to jolt the most stubborn of dogs. The battery lasts a good amount of time, the remote works well long distance. The issue is that my husky collie mix has SUPER thick fur, and even with the collar tightend all the way, and the prongs as far as it could go, she was completely unaffected. The vibration was nothingthe beeps just made her cock her head. My husband touched it immediately after and got a good jolt. So it for sure works. We ended up having to shave a spot on her neck for it to become effective and she's finally starting to understand she can't just doge out the front door whenever she feels like going for a stroll. She's probably one of the most intelligent dogs I've ever met in my life, and she outsmarts me daily. She's also as stubborn as they come.. so if you own a breed that has thick fur, is bred for a colder climate, please be warned that you might have to take extra measures to make this work..and your dog might not be just immune. my husband tested the collar at up to a 20 over his shirt and it didn't effect him at all. So any barrier causes it to be ineffective. Direct contact with the skin is the most effective.Over all though, this is a very nice collar for the $30. It's higher quality than expected, and it does what it's supposed to do as long as it's used correctly, this is a very effective training tool.

we trained my old boy on one of these types of collars when he was just a pup. he's fifteen now, and his age is catching up to him, and he's almost completely deaf. the original collar he grew up with only had the beep and shock feature. he learned to come when he heard the beep or else he'd get a little zap! worked wonderfully. there were few occasions where he was particularly petulant and needed to be shocked, so it was overall a relatively painless experience for him... up until now.he couldn't hear the beep anymore. so, the only option was to shock him, which seemed needlessly cruel. and without the beep, without that warning, he didn't understand why he was getting zapped. instead of coming as he was taught to do, he instead started running away from me. it broke my heart. the only option was to abandon the collar and rob him of his freedom, only allowing him outside on a tie-out where he had limited space to explore. this, too, was heartbreaking.i didn't like this solution, so i started poking around for other options. i came across this collar, saw that it had a vibration feature (something i had never seen before), and immediately ordered it. i crossed my fingers that this would give my lil' old man his freedom back!and it DID! the moment he feels the vibration he comes trotting along, just like he once did when he heard the beep! it is perhaps even more effective than the beep, as i haven't had to shock him once since introducing this collar! i am so happy that he can now roam to his heart's delight, but i have a way to summon him back so he doesn't stray too far off of the property! and now he can explore alongside his sisters again instead of being relegated to a tie-out and only watching their escapades from afar.the construction of the remote and collar is top notch! i love the digital display on the remote, the size of it, and the fact that it can be turned on and off to preserve battery life (a feature that the former remote we used did not have). the module for the collar is well built with excellent attention to detail. i appreciate the rubber cover for the charging port so it is truly waterproof. and on that note, it's wonderful that both the remote and collar can be charged and do not require batteries! it's so intuitive and user-friendly! i could not be more pleased!i highly recommend this!!included is a picture of the sweet old man himself. he approves, too!!

The dog collar we received is very effective on whingy whimpering dog and without having to use the main shock button. Also a very reasonable price and delivery as expected. Thank you. Love it!

This shock collar works great. Love the fact I can lock it so I don't accidently shock my dog and the fact that is waterproof cause my dog loves swimming. He's been in 4 or 5 times with the collar on and it works perfectly. Like the big orange button to shock and the beep and vibrate buttons are smaller and not close to the shock button. I also like the remote ID big and fits well in my hand. Overall it's good and I would definitely recommend this product

We were referred to this product by family who swore by it's effectiveness in training their dogs. Our 1 year old dog was overly excited when walking, would bark and pull excessively and we were having difficulty getting him to pay attention to our command. The dog care collar gives us tools to increasingly get our pups attention and remind him to focus on our command. We most often use the tone function, followed by the vibration and have not yet needed to use the shock function as the other tools are very effective. As we use it with walking, our pup recognizes it as his collar for going on walks and is eager to wear it (he is not afraid of it!!). We are so glad to have found this product and the progress we have made with our dog since receiving it.

This training collar deserves all the great reviews. We have been using it for about 6 weeks...Instructions were clear and set up was easy. The collar and remote worked right out of the box but did require an initial charge as batteries were low.We only use the sound and vibration functions on our 8 month old chocolate lab puppy. The first few times we use it for a certain behavior we use it with a voice command, as well as the sound. He quickly gets the idea and after that the sound is sufficient to stop a behavior in most cases. Sometimes we use a little vibration to help distract from a naughty behavior he is really, really in to. I love the idea that there is no human associated with the behavior interruption, so eventually I hope this translates into good behavior with no human present. Hey, I dream big- lol. It is interesting that most of the time we activate this training collar he approaches the user and sits after the behavior is interrupted. We have not consciously trained him to do that. Behaviors this has helped with are: OFF (kitchen counters and table surfing- lol, as well as jumping on people); LEAVE IT (trash and socks he steals, chewing on the door mat, digging my flowers up, etc); QUIET (reacting to our neighbor’s lonely and talkative dogs having a bark frenzy when they see us through the fence, or guests entering the house); and HEEL (he loves to pull the leash on walks). We do keep the shock setting turned to zero to avoid shocking accidents. I believe most dogs would not require the shock setting with proper handling and especially starting with this collar as young as possible. I believe positive reinforcement with treat or loving is best for most behaviors, but some behaviors just need a non-voice reminder like this collar. We also tend to leave the “lock” deactivated (since shock is essentially deactivated on zero setting) to make immediate reaction to a behavior easier and less confusing for the humans. (“Gah! Who set the lock??? No wonder it didn’t work!!!...”)We have a pool, and have tested water resistance with our water puppy repeatedly. This collar stands up to splashing and swimming just fine. I would not immerse it at a depth continuously, but can not really see a scenario where that would happen, even at the beach. Just put the remote in a plastic zipper baggy for times where the human user would be really wet. Again, use in wet scenarios would be for the safety behaviors mentioned above rather than reward behaviors such as FETCH, GIVE, SIT, STAY etc.We charge the collar at night every few days, and alternate with the remote every few days. So far this has worked okay, but having two charge cords would be a cheap and easy upgrade from the manufacturer. I am sure I have another one somewhere we can put with the kit, though. Battery life has been great even on days with heavy use.We remove the collar every night, but use for 12-16 hours per day. We have not noticed any callusing or rubbing, or any discomfort from our puppy, but I think we have it adjusted as loose as you can get it and still have the vibration working. The receiver box on the collar is designed to naturally hang at the front of the neck due to its weight. I saw some reviewers who seemed to think this was incorrect positioning. Gravity works. If you have read this far you should just buy the darn thing. We have zero regrets. It has 100% met our needs and our expectations, and we 100% recommend it.
