Using this bench is simple - Position one end of the bench outside the shower or bath and the other end inside, making sure the legs are level, locked and stable. Sit on the seat and easily slide across into the shower or bath. The backrest, which can be positioned for left or right-hand use, provides additional support and comfort along with a seat belt for safety. This transfer bench measures 39 inches across to allow ample room for the seat to slide. Be sure to measure your bathroom or shower area to make sure it will properly fit inside. Its total height can reach 37 inches when the legs are fully extended. The legs are adjustable in 12 inch increments, allowing you to change the seat height from 19 to 23 inches. This is the better chair! I got this for my dad, who’s 6ft and 220lbs, and it’s been a game-changer. The release latch is on the side instead of the front, which makes it way easier (and safer) for him to reach. It fits perfectly in the tub and gives him more space since the legs go straight down instead of angling outward. The chair slides back and forth smoothly, dries quickly, and can be turned to the side for easy storage when not in use. We actually bought two different models—this one and a $150 one—and he definitely preferred this one.

I read a number of reviews before purchasing. Based on the other reviews I knew that the height dimensions were not correct. According to the listed adjustable height dimensions, the bench should fit my garden tub, but it does not. I wanted this bench over some of the other ones because it is wider than many of the other benches. I saw one review where blocks were used to increased the height of the chair for a garden tub. Based on this, I thought I could come up with some method to increase the height so I went ahead and purchased the bench. I first placed wood under the legs, but I didn't like the bulkiness of it. I came up with a different solution that works very well. I pulled two legs from an old shower chair and placed ~4.5" long metal pipe pieces into each of the old legs to act as a spacer. I took the feet off the bottom of two of the legs of the bench, and then placed them into the old legs. I might go back later, take out the spacers and drill a hole and add a push button spring clip from the old chair to the bottom legs so that the legs hold in place if the chair is lifted. But it's probably not necessary. We've used the chair twice now with the modifications and it was very stable and worked well. In our case, the person using the chair is well under 200 pounds. I would be surprised if the chair held up to a much heavier person.

I thought this would be great to help my mom but it is flimsy unstable and in my opinion unsafe especially if your tub is not flat. It doesn’t sit well is very wobbly and you can’t adjust how wide it is to make it fit in a small cramped bathroom. Sorry I already used or or it would be going back

Only complaint... and I see another that addresses it... high tub wall fits fine under this frame... but shower curtain cant fall back inside tub... carefully folded and tucked, shower curtain DOES keep water off the floor... another has a set of 'bends' in the seat frame that lets the curtain 'hang'... love that it 'locks' IN and OUT of tub area... makes set up... use... and dry off more stable... easy to clean and stores in tub for the next use... great solution to a short term problem...

Had knee surgery with leg in a brace 24/7. This bench allows you to get seated outside the tub, then smoothly slide over into the tub. The latches on each end secure the seat in place on the rails so it doesn't move once in place. If I had used a shower chair, I would have had to maneuver my leg in a brace into the tub and get situated. This was much easier. You do need to be careful in the placement of your shower curtain around it to avoid water hitting the curtain and dripping outside, but this is easily done once you pay attention to it. I did find the seat cutout was not as handy as I thought it might be--with that much of the seat gone, I lost some stability. But it is easily left in place with no problem. Easy to assemble; but it does take up a bit of space. I also purchased suction hand grips and a suction holder to lower the shower head. Together it all worked beautifully!

This looks like an excellent product - innovative design and well made, and easy to assemble. I would have rated it with five stars but we had to return it because the legs were not long enough, even when adjusted to the full height, to clear the edge of the bath. We raised this with the manufacturer but although they acknowledged our question about whether longer legs could be provided, they did not come back with any solution. With great regret we had to return it.

Excellent product. Is as described. Very sturdy. Slides easily even with 220 lb. person on it but does lock securely once in (or out) of tub. Unfortunately , bought for my elderly mother and her tub is an odd size INSIDE so couldn't fit it properly unless I used it in the middle of the tub which brought it too close to the toilet. Had to return. TOO BAD!! Really really like it. Would've have been perfect if we had a little more space. The only negative is that the adjustments don't allow you to adjust LOW enough for a short person like my mom (5'1") Her feet dangle above the floor so need to be careful til she is IN the tub area. Still a a bit higher than I'd like to see there, but manageable.
