I decided to get this switch to (theoretically) maximize the integrity of the electrical signals carrying packets of information to my streamer (WiiM Pro). My intention was to create some distance from potential interference of the router before splitting off the signal. I also have the ifi LAN iSilencer isolating the input AND switched the power supply to a 12v ifi iPower2 😅 I changed a lot at once, and I wasn’t in a position to blind test any of those individual components, but (and I’ll openly chalk the experience up to psychoacoustics), I do feel I heard a bit more clarity in some pretty “thick” mixes (e.g. the “Mandy” and “It Follows” scores). Put another way, perhaps the circumstance simply allowed me to perceive more of the “live feed” from my senses (versus something consolidated over time like a smell), but I’m confident I’m not doing any harm to the system. The whole idea stemmed from (in addition to different advice on YouTube) learning that the clock in my WiiM is a reflection of its affordability. I also have a Denafrips Ares 12-1, which has a buffer and reclocking, so I was probably fine, but I figured if I can’t improve the WiiM, I can make it’s job (and anything downstream) easier 🤷‍♂️. My Roku Ultra is also catching signal from the D-Link. I see no differences there, but again, no perceived foul. The switch itself seems sturdy and worked right out of the box. I also appreciate the grounding post, given I’m using shielded Ethernet cables. It’s takes up little space and the lights aren’t distracting, which is nice. It might not be doing what I intended it to do, but I have every confidence it is doing what it’s *designed* to do very well.

It’s getting harder and harder to find brands that I’ve heard of before and even more rare to find with decent price and features. Fortunately, this DLink is every bit as solid and affordable as when I first got I bought when they started appearing in stores.

I trust this brand. I don't trust the other cheap knock off, "third-shift" network switch brands sold on Amazon for less. You get what you pay for. Pay once, cry once. Trust that this D-Link switch is not sending your data to China.

Never had a problem with them over the few weeks that I've been using them. Network connections negociate at 2.5Gbps without any problems and I get the bandwidth I was expecting all the time.

After upgrading our home internet to a 2Gb fiber connection, I decided to purchase this D-Link 2.5Gb unmanaged switch to take advantage of the faster available speeds across all devices in our home. This switch is unmanaged, meaning it's plug and play. I simply connected an ethernet cable from our fiber ONT into one port, and the individual ethernet cables for my connected devices into the other ports and all devices are now receiving an internet connection. The housing feels solid and is made of metal, and the network indicator lights on each port make it easy to confirm if everything is plugged in properly.

Works great, doesn't get hot. I docked it one star (which I admit I'm being picky) because the LEDs are way too bright and can't be turned off.

My internet provider ran a promotion for 2 gig fiber speeds for the next couple of years. Once they installed their parts, I realized I had all my wired connections running through a single 16 port at 1 gig setup. I wanted to prioritize a couple devices, so bought this switch to take advantage of the speeds. Put my wired desktop and NAS directly, and the 16 port switch in as the third user. After doing that, realized I really wanted the PC to take advantage of all the speed, so bought a higher speed ethernet dongle. But, that's a different post.Overall, easy to set up. Good value for the price. Very easy to see which ports have 2+Gig speeds, and which are 1 gig or less. Would recommend.

Replaced an older model, learned that my old unit had a defective port that I was not aware of before. Works like a charm. My only suggestion for improvement is that the lights and the cable connections are on the same side. If you desk mount this unit the cables and lights are facing away from you. I prefer to see the link lights, it's best suited for a setup where it is in a shelf where you can make use of the ground (which I do not use) and the power would be at the back and cable in front. Like in a rack. It's a bit small for a rack mount, making it more suitable for desk mount and thus the lights should be on the other side.
