About this item

  • Test pool salt level- Salt range:0~9990ppm/10~100ppt; Check the salt concentration of saltwater pool and hot tub that use salt chlorine generator; Help the salt chlorinator work more efficiently in the appropriate salinity value.
  • Test the pH level of pool- pH: 0.00~14.00; Recommend pH level between 7.2 to 7.8 according to different type pool (fiberglass; vinyl pools and tiled pools). When the pH is within range, for optimum performance and cleanest water.
  • Digital tester VS test strips- With strip tests, you’ll have to guess what pool’s value is based on the color of a strip; Digital tester, however, will give an exact reading so there’s no guess work involved. Plus, using test strips enough will add up cost in the long run.
  • Multi-function salinity tester: ORAPXI 5 in 1 tester can measure Salinity/pH/TDS/EC and temperature level, suitable for most swimming pool salt water hot tubs and spas.
  • Easy to use- All you need to do is simply dip the tester in your pool’s water, then LCD display shows the measurement result in seconds.

I bought it for my husband to test the water in the pool it works great. I recommend buying it too if you have a pool.

my wife is sensitive to salt and our water supply reports don't measure salt. we bought this reasonably priced tester to measure the supplied water and then after running it thru 2 carbon filters. both were coming in at 200 ppm, much higher than desired. this caused us to install a RO system. that brought levels down to just 15 ppm. the tester is great...a quick dip in the sample and you have a steady number in seconds. very pleased with this tester.

I wanted to test my pool's salt level and thought this tester was reasonably priced. I only used it to test salt and pH, and it seems to work fine. I have compared the reading to the results I get from Pinch-a-Penny so it works, however, the instructions imply that after a few months, it may require calibration, and they have included some testing swabs for that purpose. The backlight on the display goes out before the reading stabilizes, making it difficult to read. For these reasons, I gave it 4 stars.

Normally I would get a small I stick with units marked on it, you get an inch of water or two inches you place this salt stick in water and wait until the top line turns dark, then you look at the units on it and read the corresponding number on back of bottle to get your % of salt in pool. That tells me if I need to add more salt to the pool water. That is a pain-in the butt. So I found this electronic device on amazon and you get a small amount of pool water, turn on the device, set the device to salt and read it so fast and easy beats the stupid stick. It is not very expensive and it also reads the ph so you know if you need to balance the water. Excellent device

It's convenient and a great idea. However, even after calibration its readings differ from other instruments. pH is accurate, certainly enough for my purpose of pool testing. Salt (conductivity) readings are inaccurate. Still working on this, but after a few days I'm not convinced the salt (conductivity) readings are correct. You might be able to narrow the uncertainty by getting test results from other sources and adjusting your own readings, but I had hoped for better accuracy.

I bought this device primarily to calibrate the chlorine generator on my salt water pool. It certainly was easy to set up and use. Just follow the directions at first, going ahead with the calibration process. Then rinse the tip with DISTILLED WATER after each us, allow it to dry, an replace the protective cap. Don't touch the contacts or glass bulb on the tip of the device and don't drop it. If you are careful with it, I imagine this will last a very long time. It seems quite accurate, including taking salinity, pH, and temperature readings. I'm not sure how safe it would be for something that is critical like a salt water fish tank, but for a salt water swimming pool, this device is super, at least so far!

In December, I received nice salt aquarium for Christmas will all the bells and whistles. However, while bringing it up, i didn't like using the traditional refractometer as it can be hard to see. So I bought this. Everything worked fine for 45 days. Then I performed a water change with water I had made to match the tank. I did the change. Later that night, I use the meter to spot check the tank as that is what you do when you micro manage your marine tank. It read 28ppt. I panicked and began raising the salinity over the next day to 35ppt. All is fine. I thought! Then 95% of my large inverts die. All snails but one, all shrimp but one, all crabs but one, and all copepods. I cannot figure it out, checking everything. Next, my coral. All but 4 frags die. 2 of those very ill. I run an ICP test my water comes back perfect with the exception I'm at 44ppt. I assume something could be wrong on their end and took my tester to my son's house and put them side by side. His read 35ppt in his tank, and mine reads 27.5. Never trust this when you have animals lives at stake. If something seems off get the refractometer out. This device and my trust cost me about $500 bucks in livestock.

Seems accurate. Note you do have to calibrate for the pH readings and requires distilled water to do it. Used it once so far and a lot easier than trying to decipher colors on test strips. My first reading showed 7.9 pH in pool and colors on test strips were hard to decipher but was somewhere between 7.8 and 8.4 “color”.Needs about 15 seconds to level out reading but good.Wish there was one that read chlorine, calcium and CYA so I could throw out the crappy test strips.
