I bought this to use for my pool and was mainly interested in ph. For that it works just fine. The salt/TDS/EC, etc. seem to work also but I don't find those useful for my purposes. The unit has an undocument FAC (free available chlorine) mode, but that reads zero and doesn't seem to be functional.The ORP function doesn't work. I sent the first unit back for a replacement, but the ORP function didn't work on that one either. The reading in both was stuck at 330 -340 mv whether in distilled, tap or pool water. The FAC readout is stuck on zero on the second one too, as expected.I kept the second unit as the ph function works well.

This little meter is great for quickly checking your pool or cold plunge if you're using a salt based cleaner for the water. It quickly measure pH, salinity & ORP (how quick the water can keep clean), plus temperature, as well as 2 more modes for hydroponics (PPM & EC). It has a bright display which makes it easy to read in the dark, as well as being able to turn off the display if needed. Battery replacement is pretty easy, but does use watch/hearing aid style batteries. Calibration of the sensor is well laid out with buffer powder's provided for pH & directions on how to make your own for salt. Just a complete package for your testing needs. I'm using this as part of a cold plunge setup, so it's been nice to know when it's time change the water. Add an excel spreadsheet to track your data & you'll know how to cycle it through in no time!

While this does work, it require calibration fairly often, making it kind of a hassle to use.If you want something that's just plug and play, this might not be the right tester for you. Once you run out of the calibration material, you'll need to order more, so it's an ongoing cost as well. I would probably just go back to traditional strips instead of using this, as you can just use the strips and be done with it at that point. I don't like always wondering if the calibration is off and then having to redo the calibration.
