The stand is pretty solid with a strong enough magnet. However, the dial indicator arrived with the lock screw loose in the package. It didn't appear to be stripped or have something else wrong with it, so it could be re-installed. However, the bezel can't be rotated. Even with the bezel screw loosened it takes so much force to rotate the bezel that you will likely break something. For my use, the dial indicator is still useable, but if you need to adjust the bezel you are out of luck.

Easy to use; accurate; comes with plenty of adapters and convenient carrying case. Used it to check the run out of my brake rotors, and it worked well.

I liked the indicator contact points I liked the indicator stand 0 to 1 inch dial indicator was off by 5,000 at a 1 in travel so it was worthless to me as a mechanical inspector that is so far out it doesn't do me any good to have a tool that's not accurate but all I wanted was the was the indicator stand anyway and that works really great any interchangeable new contact points are fantastic to
