Precise Disarray

Long detailed review. I try to cover various things you may be looking for when shopping for a couch futon of this kind. Not all are the same. It isnt just about choosing a color and buying it. This works great for me, and what I was looking for may or may not be for you. Also a couple of tips. One of which is to sort reviews by "most recent" if you can as it will provide reviews relevant to the newest product shown here.--With a seat depth of 23.5", this budget friendly futon couch is one of the deepest available.--Material is linen, and feels good to the touch. My cats will likely agree, so I intend to put a cover on this.--A nice balance of firm and cushy. It is comfortable. It is a nice occasional couch. It is nicer than other futon couches I have had in the past. I sit on it and just find it nice, but it doesnt consume me like my ultra lazy couches in our tv room.--Size is as described--I am just under 5'11" and 300#, and I fit just fine, pretty much stretched out. Can nap on this as is, or can make into bed. Bed feels good enough. But of course a pad would make it even better.--I was able to put this together myself.--doesnt take up a lot of room in the rear. No lost space.. so can be PUSHED UP flush against the wall--Felt fine to lean against before I pushed it into place.--has plenty of support feet. Have the 4 in each corner, then two in the center, then there is one built in along the back at center. I look for those details when choosing something.--looks nice. Doesnt look cobbled together.---------------------------------------------INSTRUCTIONS are VERY GOOD. Very EASY to follow. BUT one spot could be improved. I was trucking along, and when I got to the spot where the 3 bolts are to be screwed into each arm, they dont mention EVER when these should be slid into place (arm into base).SO PAY ATTENTION TO MY NEXT WORDS as it will save a lot of frustration, sweat, and swear words. There is a spot when you are to attach the arms to the frame with a corner piece. Most all reviewers mention that you will need a second person to hold it up. Well I muscled it all into place myself. Which took up more time than everything else, and it made me sweaty and annoyed. I kept wondering when those bolts on the arms will come into place.. and it was AFTER I struggled with the other portion of the arm and base that I realize these should have been slid in early on. Basically right away. As doing anything else will only lead you to having to undo everything to slide those into place. ONCE in place, there is NO reason to have to prop up the couch arms to get those corner brackets in place. So flippin easy. Ugh. Overall can be done inside an hour after unboxing. Lay everything out, grab a drink, and put on a podcast.I have to say the instructions are otherwise extremely good. So clear, so easy. Just takes time to go through the motions. I kept all bolts and such lightly loose so I can get everything into place, then went back and tightened everything up.Pieces are well labeled. No guessing. Screws, bolts, washers, etc also labeled well on the package.Pieces were all wrapped in a soft clothSmaller bits packed together in a boxI made sure to check my hands to make sure they were clean as I moved from each layer of instruction. I had wet wipes near by just in case.NOW, keep in mind what you are using this for. Keep expectations realistic. I keep seeing in reviews (here and other items) that folks expect products like this to be a real couch of heirloom quality and ultra comfort. While it can be your daily "couch", it is really best suited as an occasional couch-- like a sitting couch in bedroom, in office, in a spot where you want something but dont want anything too bulky, too expensive, and dont mind it not having a movie/series marathon binge level of comfort. As the rare extra bed. I am not uncomfortable on this. I'm stoked to have decided after much consideration and searching to have gone with this.COLOR didnt matter to me, as I could always cover it. But I did choose the MUSTARD YELLOW (like a spiced mustard) because I love weird colors. My office has chartreuse, orange, yellow, and this level of yellow works. Because I have cats and dogs, I decided to toss a blanket on it. Well, actually I tucked a "rug" on it. , but despite being gorgeous, and ultra soft to the touch it was way too flexible to be used as a carpet. I could fold it like a blanket! It finally came in handy as a perfect partial couch cover. Click product link to seeI have had some couch futons that are at best for putting on shoes, and not something you will want to sit on for long. This DHP futon couch is much nicer than ultimately anticipated. So far I am very pleased with it, and since I am a prolific reviewer, I keep up with my reviews. I will update whether it holds up or not, but especially not. Within reason, of course. I 'm heavy, my dogs are heavy, and while this supports 600 lbs, it shouldnt be used for jumping on, rough/horse play, etc.I am going with 5 stars because as of right now it meets and exceeds my level of expectation. I looked long and hard for a piece of furniture like this. I had specific measurements in mind, including the seat depth. I even knew I wanted a certain weight limit to look for, as well as how many legs. I wanted the sleep option, but also I like idea of having it be able to be set back just a little. Or kept in upright condition. I preferred a fun/weird color, but was open to anything. I actually would see which color was cheapest if it was otherwise same piece of furniture. While I prefer the arms to be squared off, the other features (deat depth!) sold me. The arms are pleasant to look at and feel just fine on the head when I lay down with nothing else. I will be able to curl up on this and read when I want to be in my girl cave. Or my dogs and cats have added place to sit when I am gaming. And it doesn't take up that much room in any direction.Lastly, it is about as perfect as it can be. I expect minor variances. I think the spot where the two back pieces meet are pretty well situated. Some products show gaps. The arms are on pretty tight-- just make sure bolts are tightened everywhere. The panel along the front goes slightly up rather than level across, but it is so slight, and so even that I think it is part of the design. And I want to reiterate that the couch can be slid flush up against wall with no gapping. Will have to pull out a little to make into bed or recline, but it is flush in upright position. If looking at other products some cant be pushed flush against wall as the support bar for when in the bed position has to stick out. I think with this one the fact that the seat depth to start is deeper than most all others (upwards of 3-4 inches), that not as much is needed when made into the bed. Whatever the reason, they did very well with this in that regard. OH, and some products will say not to sit on edge when in bed position. That always took them out of my choice because who doesnt sit on edge of a bed. This has nothing goofy of the sort, and again the FEET AND FRAME are well balanced that it wont matter where you sit. I would have hated for one of my dogs to flip the bed because they got on it wrong. Yeesh.I will include loads of pictures soon.

Arrived way sooner than expected. Very easy to put together, I did it myself, following the steps provided. Looks great in the small space we needed it for.

By mistake my purchase was doubled and I tried to cancel it right away and I could not be allowed to reject the order when I received it since they only left it at my home, the service was very bad. The sofa looks good and works well but its materials feel of poor quality and when you sit down you feel the structure of the metal in addition to the fact that the lines of the mattress are noticeable and it looks very bad.

This futon is nice quality. Was not easy to assemble. Took several people and the instructions aren't super clear. At least they weren't to us. Got injured assembling it lol. As far as sitting goes it's very comfortable and has a nice look. For sleeping, I wouldn't recommend for more the one person. The one side is hard and too supportive while the other sinks in and you have to make sure you place your hip bone correctly so not to be laying on the cross bar. Not a luxurious experience by any means but not bad for a night or two. Children probably wouldn't have a problem on it. The length is certainly good for adults

The futon couch is perfect - comfortable and sleek. Unfortunately it was damaged in transit and there were a couple of cuts through the material. The company responded quickly and ended up sending a replacement without delay. It is not easy to put together (the unit is quite heavy) so best to have two people to assemble. Instructions however are clear.

Let's get the good stuff out up front: the end result is great. Looks clean and nice, and is super comfortable. Seems well-built. I like that both sections can be adjusted individually, and have well-hidden legs in the zippered backs to support it when open. Overall, it's a huge improvement over what we had before for a pretty reasonable price. Now for the bad...Delivery:Frankly, I'm not sure Amazon should even be selling this, as the delivery companies are completely unprepared for it. In my case it was FedEx who seemed to go out of their way to find excuses not to deliver it, with claims of my gate not working, and claiming my "business" (home) was closed when I was actively home and no attempt was made to reach me. But eventually after much fighting with them over the phone, they arranged a time to deliver it. A rather small delivery person in a small van arrived and called me, and I met him out front. The box was impossibly large and heavy for him to manage on his own, and I had to help. While I was happy to do so, again, this is not something the delivery companies are apparently equipped to handle AT ALL.As we got it inside my apartment complex and to the staircase, we were faced with the impossibility of getting it up the stairs. And as we attempted to do so, parts began to fall out of the box, which had ALL FOUR corners destroyed. I think it might be smart for the company to reinforce the corners with some sort of corner plastic sheeting to prevent this in the future. We decided our only option was to rip open the box in the alleyway and carry the pieces up individually, with my fingers crossed the whole time that none were missing. Eventually they were all in and he was on his way.Assembly:Thankfully all the pieces were there. The company managed to pack everything small in a package kept between the cushions, ensuring it was safe from this sort of damage, with only the larger pieces on the outside. Instructions were mostly clear, although they warn of not over-tightening until done, but never indicate when to tighten and just how seriously they mean this. I eventually found with several components that not over-tightening basically meant to barely screw it in at all, because if it's even remotely close to its finished spot the holes no longer line up with the next steps. But then, on step 2, we ran into a serious problem. One of the side pieces had the wrong-sized screw holes in it for the hand-tightened, double-ended bolts provided. I couldn't get them to go in more than a smidge. Assuming it was me for a while, I then tried the other side piece and everything went in without a hitch. I tried several screws and all the holes and confirmed every single one on that side piece was wrong. I had to reach out to the company via the form on their website, and then had a back-and-forth via email with photos, proof of purchase, etc. They shipped a replacement which arrived TEN days later, but was functionally correct. The rest of the setup was rough. It's not easy to put together. Super heavy main unit, plus screw holes that are VERY hard to line up. If you're used to IKEA, this is definitely far from it. This process led to a lot of profanity and sweat and annoyance. But eventually it was complete, and you know the results.I do recommend this futon, but the warnings need to be heeded. Expect work, take not overtightening screws to its most extreme level, and have time, water (or something stronger), and calming music on hand.
