nice fit and finish. Appears to be quite accurate, certainly more than enough for my skill level and projects. Great to find this quality for a reasonable price. The miter angle pin feature seems spot-on and is a nice bonus feature.

This little square is well made with extremely accurate measurement marks. It’s become my go to quick marking device. Because of its small size, it’s easy to put in a pocket, staying handy for a quick mark and transferring marks round limber edges. Because of its accuracy and size, I now reach for this square much more often than my old traditional carpenter square.

If you intending to use this very well machined and accurate square for basic use you won't be disappointed. Where it let me down was in that the 1/16th holes for marking require a mechanical pencil. While that is great for a more accurate line the problem is with the thickness of the blade that requires you to extend the lead so far to get through it. At that point the lead is very fragile. While it will certainly work, I found it to be more trouble than it was worth to use. Since part of the reason I wanted it was to utilize that function I will use one of my other options. Otherwise, I have only good things to say about it as DFM makes high quality products for a fair price.

I've purchased almost every single product DFM makes now. They make really high quality tools at a reasonable price, and it's all made in the US. The fit and finish of this square is perfect. Pitted up against my 6" machinist square that's +/- 0.0001", it is dead on the money. Very accurately machined. I wish they offered larger squares too, but I'm at least happy to have this one.

I always love DFM products. They’re precise, well made in the USA, and have some cool features like the pin for the carpenters square used for making out polygon holes and the scribing line holes. Great prices too! It’s nice to have a small 3 inch square like that instead of using a giant 12 in square that’s totally unnecessary while making small projects, but it also works well on 2x’s. It’s size makes it, along with the small square and center finder I great way to really verify that a blade, fence, or table is at 90 or 45 instead of relying on the built in gauges that are never dead on correct.

Ive has this for a month now. Ive been working towards turning to metric exclusively for woodworking and this square was one of my first conversion pieces. Its a solid option for quick angle/miter references on a 2x4 and marking small rip cuts. The holes are accurate but need a really thin tip to mark through. Its also a dead-on reference square for checking 90 and 45 degree angles on saws. I use it to square up my jig, track and circular saw. I’d bet it would also serve a miter and table saw too, don't have those. Another positive is it fits right into my apron pocket, much easier to have on me than my other speed squares. For that reason alone I can see this being one of my most commonly used squares. Best part is its a US made product, its nice to support local businesses! One suggestion id make is having a flavor of this with embedded magnets so it can attach to ferrous surfaces. I offhandedly use this as a machinist square and it works well but it likes to fall over while im working. One minor nitpick is the pins to set other angles are slightly shaky which can slightly throw the angle off. Im not really going for high precision work with my woodworking and I don't often work outside of 45/90 angles. But its something to consider for someone who does care & plans to use this for any non standard angle. For that reason Im deducting a star on accuracy, arguably half star deduction since its minor but the review system doesn't allow finesse. Its still completely usable and this is still a 5 star product. If you want to be dead-on with non-standard angles have a digital protractor handy to double check. Its hard to beat this level of accuracy on a budget, I applaud DFM for setting a moderate price point on it. Its easy to sink a lot of money as a woodworker, this serves as a perfect entry point square or as a substitute to larger squares for a variety of use cases.

I saw a review of this product on the 931 Woodworks Youtube video and decided to give it a try. The famous red WoodWorker's products are awe inspiring but as a beginner I am having a hard time justifying the purchase in our family budget....With that said, this DFM little square fits the bill perfectly for me in terms of balancing affordability, usefulness, accuracy, durability, and aesthetics. So I just started woodworking as a hobby and built my spouse some pull out drawers and some kitchen cabinets. This little square is used CONSTANTLY to mark cut lines, check for square, measure the height of saw blades, set 45 degree angles, scribe straight lines a consistent distance from the edge of a board, etc. It's wonderfully accurate and incredibly easy to keep on your person while you work through your project.I've seen some people deduct a star because the information on the aluminum is painted on instead of engraved. I can see that this could be a problem eventually, so I hope DFM reconsiders this characteristic for future manufacturing. I think that many people would be willing to pay a bit more if DFM can stay under the red W brand's price levels.
