Works great. Gets bogged down if lots of chips accumulate but just stop, tap out the chips and continue.I noticed complaints about the handle safety switch being positioned for the thumb of right handers only.I am able to use it with my left hand as well by pushing this switch with my middle finger while using my index finder on the trigger. I also noticed that once the saw is running you can let go of the safety switch and continue cutting.I use a 5 AH battery and it lasts thru a long day of cutting or weeks of occaisional use. Fill the oil when you charge the battery as a rule of thumb.Showed it to a buddy of mine and he bought one the next day -- uses it on his property all the time

Muy buena experiencia al cortar con esta motosierra. Yo ya contaba con la batería (de otras herramientas Dewalt). Realicé mi trabajo super rápido. La volvería a comprar

Very nice for pruning fruit trees while on a ladder. Got it because of the low offered price.....uses same batteries I already had. Light and easy to use with right hand while reaching. Left handers may have difficulty because of location of safety switch. Leaks a bit of bar oil so I store with a plastic bag tied around the bar sheath.

I use this to cut small brush & limbs from fallen trees. It gets the job done & it isn’t heavy or hard to work with.

Easy to use, sharp and the small size made it easy to prune trees. I did a couple 4" branches with no issues.

This mini chainsaw is awesome. Great for blazing trails or trimming brush. The battery lasts a pretty long time with it as well. The oil did leak the first couple times I used it but I think it was because it was in my bunkie with the fire blazing so the oil got hot and runny. Also, store it on its side.Great purchase

I purchased the saw to simplify simple pruning of fallen trees. I own a cottage and often trees have fallen and I don't need my much larger gas chainsaws for the job. Extremely simple to use and the battery lasts much longer than I expected. I ordered this unit due too all my other power tools are dewalt and the batteries are interchangeable. Great purchase.

Perfect addition to my Dewalt tools, it's perfect for when you don't need a full-sized chainsaw. This makes trimming much easier, it's compact size makes it maneuverable and easy to use. I typically used my reciprocating saw to trim smaller trunks and branches, but this is so much better. Only issue is oil leak when stored, and I did not noticed the chain getting well oiled when in use.

I love this little chainsaw. I've been looking at them at my local big box and small hardware stored for about a year but the prices were beyond my reach. I don't have large amount of land, but what I do have is about a third wooded, mostly with HUGE oak trees. I have an 18" Oregon chainsaw so that if and when one of those falls it handles it easily. It is, however, big and heavy. Tiny acorns sprout into new oak trees and it's a yearly battle trying to keep up with them, made even more of a pain by the size and weight of the big chainsaw or the tediousness of a hand pruning saw. I tried a reciprocating saw with a good pruning blade and it worked but was still too slow, I already have several DeWalt 20c batteries (original and after-market) so getting the bare tool was a no-brainer. It's perfect for my needs - it blasts through anything up to 7" in diameter and beyond that I'd use the big saw anyway. This one is less than half the weight of the big saw, even with a 6Ah battery, which balances it perfectly. Also, I can't say enough about the seller Toolup of Las Vegas, NV. They shipped my saw, brand-new in the box, the same day I ordered it and it arrived on the specified day, at a great price. Here's a couple of tips. Spend some extra and get the DeWalt biodegradable bar and chain oil. It's what they recommend, will help prevent seal damage and subsequent leakage and, since you should dump any remainder after each use, there are no disposal issues. Next, while the Dewalt chain that comes with the saw is fine, get an Oregon 8" R34. It's a little more aggressive and will make all cutting go a tad faster. Finally, consider getting one or more 16 oz. squeeze bottles for the oil, the kind they use at some restaurants and many people use for cookouts. They allow for precise, no-mess oil-filling. I got two, because this saw and the big one take different types of oil, and it works like a charm.

This is a little beast. I use it weekly and it outperforms my expectations. It’ll easily cut up to 6” diameter oak branches. It makes easy work of limbing fallen trees and is so much more convenient than messing with my gas saw for light work. I hate dragging the big saw out for minor jobs and I’ll usually just procrastinate before I mess with it. When I finally use the gas one, something usually goes wrong, either I’m adjusting the carb, running out of pre-mix, etc. I can be in and out with the Dewalt in 10 minutes so no job is too small. I also upgraded the bar oil resevoir cap o-ring based on reports of leakage and have never had an issue, although I never tried it out with the original o-ring. It runs a long time on a 6Ah battery too.

My wife wanted to help with preparing our firewood, tree trimming , etc., she loves it! very easy for her to use and handle. Battery life is very acceptable. I have several batteries as I have many dewalt 20V tools. Great products, very well made.
