The tips have a kind of "rocker" -- when you squeeze the handles, the points actually separate slightly and no longer grip the tiny thing you're trying to grab. Makes them nearly useless, for my purposes.I don't know if the problem is design or manufacture. I have a similar pair that look identical and work perfectly -- I would just buy another pair of those, but sadly they don't have a manufacturer's label.

The textured ends of these tweezers make picking up tiny objects easy. I mainly use them to pick up crushed opal pieces for working with jewelry.
