This is a solid rack, stainless steel, and with hefty screws. The exterior faces -- the way I put it together -- have smoothed edges, with even the interior edges moderately good.Note that this is marketed as a stand for dental or craft tools, so these may be fairly diminutive tools in general.I gathered my smaller plier type tools and soon realized there was a tremendous variation in how they sit in the rack. Tools with longer reach (think needle nose) may be too top heavy. Shorter handled pliers or those with a spring mechanism that is behind the hinge point may not touch the lower bars and also not sit too securely. Pliers with too long a set of handles may touch the bottom. There's a sweet spot in-between where the handles are long enough to touch the lower bars but not so long that they bottom out.Looks like about a 3 1/2" distance to be optimal.

Build quality is very solid as it's all-metal, not flimsy at all, suggest tightening it up on a flat surface to prevent wobble. Has a nice weight that keeps it from being knocked over even with minimal tools. Plates are stamped, so have a subtle burr on one side.It seems like the golden standard of what fits perfectly into this, is hakko angle cutters. Due to the very specific fit of this. I've done my best to denote the 3 measurements that are pretty much a required criteria of if-things-will-fit-well:Handles will be compressed to 66mm(2.6in), and the 8mm(0.31in) bar will have a top-height of ~85.6mm(3.37in) there is a little bit of wiggle-room if the handles are shorter before they would pop past the pegs. If the handles are significantly longer, they will make the center pivot ride-up and that tool will want to tumble to the sides.
