  • A/C Weighting - HT622B features a polarized capacitance microphone and measures audio sound level in decibels, with choice of A or C frequency spectrum weighting. A-weighting rangs 30-130dB used for low-intensity noise as perceived by the human ear; while C-weighting ranging 35-130dB, is high-intensity noise, suitable for analyzing sound pressure levels from machinery engines, etc. A reading in the dB mode pretty much uniformly covers the entire audio spectrum from 30Hz to 8KHz.
  • F/S Time Weighting - The sound meter has fast/slow level capture capacity, a slow time weighting is a reading taken over a second; a fast time weighting takes the reading in 125 milliseconds, a good helper for home theater systems,an audio/rec studio, computer & N.F. monitor audio calibration.
  • Clear readings - The noise decibel meter has a high-definition full-view backlit display, and hold function can freeze the current reading based on the sound measurement according to individual needs so you can clearly see the readings even in low light environment.
  • Easy to Use & Portable - With non-slip structure and only 2.3 inches wide and 1.3 inches thick let the sound decibel meter easily to hold in hand. Powered by three durable AAA batteries auto power-off function to extend battery life.
  • Auto/Manual Range Choose - Made off nice and thick ABS platic and appear to be great injection-molded quality, the decibel meter with low/high frequency supports set up the range in 50dB dynamic range.

I've used sound meters at work quite a bit - really high end ones that require frequent calibration and certification. This is not one of them. For hobby use - especially if you can get your hands on a calibrated, certified meter to compare with - this is a pretty nice unit. Better than an Android app. It's also a good idea to read up on sound level testing and wave propagation before use - measuring loudness is not just a matter of turning it on and reading the number. I'm honestly kind of glad a cert wasn't included - I wouldn't have trusted it anyway (but I suspect others would). This way you know it's a qualitative tool only (seeing a decrease after reducing sound, for example, rather than saying exactly how much sound was reduced.) I just wish it were USB-C rechargeable...

I order this decibel meter to measure how loud was a pair of mini fridges I ordered. One said it was ultra quite so I put it in my bedroom but had to eventually move it out because it would wake me up at night when the compressor would run. The other mini fridge is quitter but doesn’t cool as well. In conclusion this decibel meter allowed me to evaluate to sound level of 2 different products for my personal use.

The HABOTEST HT622B digital sound level meter surprised me quality wise. The package is even of box-store quality. The meter is well built with good quality plastic, good quality rubber trim, the display is bright and vibrant (I don't use it outdoors under direct sunlight), it comes with a decent tool pouch, the windscreen is a little on the loose side, and it comes with an easy to understand manual. It is within the mentioned tolerances meter wise, I checked it against 4 other sources. I don't believe it would be considered legally binding in regards to noise ordinance enforcement, but plenty accurate for my use. Overall I'm impressed with this robust, budget minded meter and would recommend it to anyone that doesn't require lab quality nor legally binding readings. Two thumbs up here!

This meter seems typical but isn't certified, or at least doesn't come with any proof of such. It will allow you to compare levels of before and after repairs or even a SPL comparison between 2 devices. I don't know that you can consider the levels accurate without certification. It does work and is comparable to another meter that I got from Amazon. I am hoping it holds up and stays accurate, time will tell. Not thrilled that it isn't certified.

This is for "Decibel Meter, HABOTEST HT622B Digital Sound Level Meter Range 30-130dB,dB Meter with A/C Weighting,Handheld SPL Meter Used for Home, Office,Factory"Display is fine indoors, but almost invisible in bright sunlight, not much better with overcast sky. A better display for outdoor use would be the gray background, black characters lcd with backlight toggle for indoors.

This looks to be a pretty typical SPL meter. Body seems nice and rugged, though care does need to be taken for the more sensitive microphone tip which is the metal cylinder about the size of a sharpie which stick out. Other than a quality control card, there was no evidence of this being calibrated against a class-1 or 3 sound pressure source. Typically meters like these need a reference loudness to adjust their scale against, and then are graded (class1 -3) based on how well they hold that tolerance over time and temperature/environments. This meter has no grade so I don't expect or plan to use it for any legal or scientific purposes. It does however measure very closely to my iPhone with an SPL app which is also not calibrated (within 1-2dB). In my home with A-wt turned on I can get the below-scale reading (

The HABOTEST HT622B Digital Sound Level Meter is a handy tool to have around for both industrial applications and where I use it, in determining the ambient noise floor of recording and performance spaces. I work in audio editing and recording, and in our current space, designed over 45 years ago, little thought was given to ambient noise in the recording spaces. We have to correct it in the editing process now, but we are moving to a new space soon, so I wanted to check the ambient noise here to compare it to the new space once it is under construction. Using the HABOTEST HT622B set to C measurement scale and slow updating, I sat in each room and measured the ambient noise ,with the average of the 4 spaces being about 45-48dB. This is much higher than is optimal, so I have made a note of this and will be talking to the designers to ensure we come in much lower in the future. We also have a theatre space, and they asked me to check the ambient noise level there, and it was around 55dB in most of the space. The HABOTEST HT622B can also be used to gauge the sound levels of a PA system to ensure you are not providing too much sound for a space, or to check the noise levels of running machinery to ensure that hearing protection is adequate to prevent hearing loss. Great tool, easy to use, and convenient. Measures from 30-130dB and is very responsive and sensitive, picking up very faint sounds that even I missed.

The HABOTEST HT622B Digital Sound Level Meter is easy to use and quickly provided the information that I needed.I have a three smoke alarms that are not as loud as they were originally. I wanted to make sure they are up to standard before a building inspection. The alarms are not even close to the failure point. Verifying the sound level avoided replacing the alarms. The HABOTEST meter paid for itself in a few minutes.
