I was looking for a sound level monitor to track noise levels at my house. I considered a DIY approach, but the cost and time involved made me look for pre-built options. This device was recommended, and after reading reviews, I decided to purchase it, thinking worst case, I could even take it apart to learn from it if it didn't meet my needs. The device arrived quickly, in basic packaging: the typical smiley box with the device and a USB-A to barrel power connector. No instructions were included. The device itself is a small, lightweight plastic box with four clicky buttons on top and a barrel connector port on the side. The display is large and bright, showing time, temperature, humidity, and sound level.Unfortunately, my experience with the device's functionality has been disappointing. First, the buttons are very loud, registering over 100dB on the sound meter when pressed. They also seem to only be used for setting the clock. There's no way to adjust the display brightness, which is a problem because it's excessively bright.More importantly, the sound level readings inaccurate at low levels. The lowest reading I've seen is 43.8dB. The description says it measures down to 30db. I also compared the temperature and humidity readings against my smart thermostat. There was a 9% difference in humidity and a 5-degree difference in temperature. While the time displayed was accurate, this is a minor positive compared to the other issues.Overall, this sound level monitor doesn't meet my needs. The loud buttons, lack of brightness control, and questionable accuracy make it unsuitable for my purposes. I would not recommend this product.[UPDATE: The buttons do adjust the brightness ... a little.]

Noticeable volume differences seems to generate the samrechargeable so i highly doubt its super accurate. Screen is easy to see and is very bright. Not a super long battery life but at least it's rechargable.

Bought this for my new shop.Gota have it. So much info at just a glance. The “happy/sad” comfort face has only been on sad- south Texas is hot.Battery life is short, if you plan on using it cordless. But I leave it plugged in.Big legible display.

After upgrading my home A/V system to much higher power, I got curious as to how loud (dBs) my system was playing. I came across this clock with real-time meter built in and it looked like just the thing. I really didn't want a hand-held dB meter. This thing can show the sound level at all times. It's been a cool conversation starter. It does not run for long on battery power so I keep it plugged in at all times. Do not expect it to run for long periods on just the battery. I happy I bought it and have reccomended it to friends.

I’m a drummer I’ve recently developed tinnitus so I wanted to monitor dB in my studio. I love the real time measurements as opposed to my handheld dab meter that updates every few seconds. I also love the color coded lights. It signals my students to keep their headphones on and protect their hearing. The combination clock and temp are very helpful.

My daughter loves yelling at this DB meter to see how loud she is being, it’s hilarious. Otherwise this thing gives ya lots of information, is easily readable, light, bright, and works.

This decibel meter seems to have a little bit of a problem with getting a low noise decibel reading. As you can see in my pictures, it reads 43.8 dcbls in a fairly quit room while my other meter reads just 36.1 at the same time. At higher volumes, it's pretty accurate.
