UPDATE:I'm going to eat some crow here: I changed my 2-star review to 5 stars because I was way off about the lack of torque on these little motors, they've got plenty, at least 5-6Nm of torque and more. In my initial test I had a small drive clutch slip, and I thought it was the motor giving out. Once I corrected the linkage the motor performed beautifully! Can't beat them for the price!I needed 2 for a small solar tracker I'm putting together: one to rotate the platform the cell is on and one to pivot the cell to maintain a 90° angle relative to the sun. Platform rotation is good: smooth and quiet, but the little motors don't provide enough torque to pivot the solar sell. Torque is not stated in the description, but these units provide less than 1Nm, probably about .3Nms at best. Otherwise, for light loads, they're pretty good.

I have the 3 RPM, 12v version and they have an amazing amount of torque. They run quietly and look well made.

As advertised, excellent torque for such a small motor.Used to move a polyurethane belt which pulls a retractable shade sail.Seems to bear the outdoor weather.

Product Reviewed: DC 12V 50RPM High Torque Turbo Worm Geared Motor 2 pack for $19TL;DR; Very high torque; metal gear final drive; brass on nylon worm; 250mA current @ 12VI gave these a spin on the bench with a 1A bench power supply. Often these small motors exceed the capacity of that supply but this one did not. It started fine and ran around 250mA even when I tried to stall the motor. The torque was such that with finger pressure I was unable to stall it.The drive is pictured. A brass worm is driving a nylon gear with some final gears to tweak the speed presumably. There is no seal around the gear box which is held together with 4 machine screws. For the money it’s a good or very good value. 4.5 starsHow I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

For some reason I had the idea that these were going to be about twice the size they actually are, so they aren’t big enough for the application I had planed for them. I do wish, however that Amazon sellers would publish more performance data, better sizing charts and specifications for a lot of these type products, the same way most industrial suppliers list their products. Not just this one but others as well. These do seem to be decent quality for their size and the price seems fair, so if you’re in need and had the time to do better research than I had at the time, these just may be perfect for your application.

Nice compact unit and powerful enough. 4 stars until I know they'll last under use. Have already had to re-tap the mounting holes. My fault. 3 mm threads aren't meant for a gorilla torque. It would be greatly appreciated by the users of these units if the sellers or producer would add a paper bolt pattern with torque specs printed also.

I used this gearmotor in a bobbin winder for sewing machine bobbins. We use a zigzag sewing machine that can consume thread quite quickly when sewing large projects, and this bobbin winder frees us from having to configure the big sewing machine for reloading bobbins. I use an old laptop computer power supply, about 18 Volts. The green resistor in the picture serves to reduce motor voltage somewhat. The resistor would not be used with a 12V power supply. The red frame of the bobbin winder is a 3D printed piece of my design. The thread tensioner came from Amazon, where it's sold as a sewing machine part. The motor has four mounting holes, using m3 x 0.5 x 6mm screws. The 6mm motor shaft is threaded for m3 x 0.5. I use an m3 x 0.5 x 10mm screw and washer to secure the bobbin during use. I installed a shop-made collar on the shaft as an arrangement to hold the bobbin clear of the plastic frame. The collar has setscrews that secure it on the shaft. Distance between bobbin and thread tensioner is about 6-1/2 inches, which results in level winding of thread onto the bobbin. Motor current is between 0.1 and 0.2 Amp during operation. I have not tested the torque limitations of this gearmotor, but it seems to be performing this task with ease.
