I chose this caliper for its apparently unique combination of capabilities. It is the only one I could find that employs absolute zero, incremental zero, decimal, metric and fractional readings. With these capabilities, it can read and display what you prefer and it can convert from one reading to another. The incremental zero function increases the caliper's utility in many applications. The fit and finish of the tool is very nice and the action is very smooth. Adjustments can be made to increase or decrease the pressure required to slide the reader over the beam. The upper and lower jaws are machined well enough that I cannot perceive light through them when they are closed. There is an observable delay in the screen refresh rate, but It doesn't seem to be an impediment. It's still reads quickly and accurately. The caliper comes with full instructions, certification document and warrantee description, two extra batteries, a pair of miniature screwdrivers for adjustment, all in a very nice polymer case with a fitted foam enclosure. I researched several calipers from $25.00 to $160.00 and found this one to be an excellent value with respect to capabilities, fit and finish.

I've compared this with my two other calipers (one digital, one dial) and all three were spot-on (to the thousandth of an inch). The plastic housing is rather large and bulky, but with that comes a large display that's easy to read. I'm not so sure about the depth probe, though...it's quite a bit more flimsy than my other calipers and only partially held in place by the head of a screw instead of fully secured by a cross bar (additional photo included for reference). Mine arrived with the printed scale slightly marred.

I've gone through several digital calipers in the years since they have come out, and the quality, accuracy and repeatability of them continues to increase. This one is no different. It comes in a box with two batteries, a screwdriver (not sure why), instructions and a factory calibration sheet. Inserting the battery requires pulling out a little slide drawer. The hardest part of setup was getting the included CR2032 batteries out of their packages, they are sealed in double layers of plastic for some reason, and took some effort with a knife to free them of their package. Two batteries are included, one to put in and one spare.Once turned on, it works as a standard caliper. I love the fraction mode on newer calipers like this, where you can have your inch measurements shown as a fraction rather than as a decimal. Very helpful. All the standard features are there: inside and outside measurements, depth, lockable slide, thumbwheel. If you've used a digital caliper before, you'll have no problem using this one.The display is clear and easy to read with large numbers. I like the protective rubber case included to protect the sharp edges of the caliper jaws.Who is this for?- Anyone who needs repeatable, accurate measurementsPros:- Easy to use- Fraction mode for measuring inchesCons:- Batteries next to impossible to get out of their packaging

I wrote this review before I received a e-mail from Dasqua explaining that the issue I had an easy fix. There was really NOT a failier with the caliper. They sent me information for correcting the issue I had. There were very quick to assist me. I appreciate their quick response. Review I wrote was as follows: Used once. Tried today, 2 months later, turns on, reads SEE or 5EE screen. New battery did same. Manual is no help. Only turns off and on. Battery on new and in correctly. I regret writing the review so quickly. Please disregard it.Caliper is of excellent quality. Follow up service is excellent.

These are pretty good for the cost. Measures ok but of course not as good as my set of mitutoyo which cost 3 times as more. They have a solid feel to them and slide easily. I recommend most of the dasquu products I have purchased because they seem very good quality. I

I bought this to replace the metric ruler I was using to find out the size of the atch cases I was replacing. This tool is much better and gives me confidence in its reading after some test measurements. It takes a little practice to use this thing correctly however. The first thing you need to do is insert the battery. They give you a little screwdriver and you can use that to pry up the battery case. The battery case had a rubber gasket to keep the water out, I guess. Then you use the other screwdriver to screw the little screws down. The lock is on the top of the box. That needs to be loosened and then use the round wheel to measure anything. I was having trouble figuring out the space between two watch lugs, wasn't sure if it was 20 or 21mm. Well, the calipers tells me it is 20.67mm so that is why I was having trouble, lol. So to be safe, I will use a 20mm now. This calipers has just saved me some heartache and I recommend it.

I've been using these when welding and because the numbers on the LCD display are nice and large, I'm able to see them through my welding helmet (auto darkening). They work great for precise measuring and I appreciate the auto-off feature, since I tend to put them down and pick them up over and over, and eventually forget to turn them off when I put them down for the last time. Works great!
