I've dabbled in soap making just a little and stopped because it was a pain to regulate temperature with a water bath on the stove. Digital and thermostatically controlled temperature is a huge help. Holds temperature right along with my little meat thermometer (a few degrees different, but it is probably the meat thermometer). Can't speak of how well it would perform in a lab test environment, but for what I'm using it for it's perfect.

This is an electric heated bath for different lab work. This has a nice temperature control so you can accurately and precisely control the temperature of the bath. The thermostat has a nice and clear digital readout. One really nice thing about this is that this comes with ring toppers so that you can place multiple different sizes of lab glasses into the bath without spilling or overt movement of the glass. This weighs fairly lightly so it's not a burden to take it with me if I have to. I'd you're looking for a temperature controlled bath that will accommodate different lab glass containers than this is what you're looking for.

This is a GREAT water bath. We use it in our microbiology lab for keeping agar at the right temperature for pouring. It‘s small enough for our needs, yet heavy duty enough to last. It has been working great so far (about 1 year). We are very impressed with the quality and how accurately it keeps temperature.

I got this water bath to try out sous vide. It works well. It has a nice temperature control what I needed .For advance user, one can calibrate the bath to the internal temperature of the sous vide bag.
