This tool works. Takes a little time but works. Used a 1-1/8" socket, greased the bearing and bolt as another review had recommended heavy grease use. Slip joint made on 3" tube for truck exhaust. Used a 5 gal air compressor, impact gun, ubolt clamps, ratchet strap, 2x10 cut off

Tried renting a pipe expander from O'Reilly's and just WOW, so I bought this to complete the task. Worked GREAT, messy, but GREAT. I would've liked to have been able to expand into the pipe more but the bearing race piece prevents it from going any deeper.

This expander is a pain to use first of because it uses less wedges than the cheap harber freight ones it does not make it a nice round expansion and the amount of force you have to put on the bolt is alot the exhaust tubing I was using was 3 inch it was pretty standard thickness I had to get someone to hold the tubing with a chain wrench in a vice so I could tighten it down enough to make it expand we used all the lube provided .the harbor freights one work better except the bolt they use is junk and strips after a few uses that's why I bought this one the good thing is the bolt did not strip and I don't think harber freight has one that will do 4inch exhaust

Spent more time greasing the whole thing than it lasted under use. It expanded the pipe but the bearing didn't hold up against the impact I was using.

Did the job stretching a 2 3/8 galvanized fence post to 2 1/2. Took a lot of torque to do it. I suggest only use manual tools, Use lots of grease on all the sliding components. I believe that if a large Impact were applied Failure would be immanent.
